Start here.

Welcome! This group exists for one reason: to help you get stronger and build habits that hold up when life gets busy - not for six weeks, but for the long run.

Four pillars run underneath everything posted here.

Faith — the foundation. True transformation starts from within. Rooted in Biblical principles of perseverance, stewardship, and purpose, this isn't just about building a better body; it's about becoming who you were created to be.

Discipline — the method. Motivation fades. Discipline doesn't. Lasting change is built on repeatable systems, intentional habits, and consistent daily action. It's never accidental.

Stewardship — the standard. Your body, time, and energy are entrusted to you. We treat them that way: evidence-based training, sustainable nutrition, quality recovery, and habits built to last.

Community — the support. Iron sharpens iron. You won't navigate this alone.

How to use this group: ask questions, post what you're working on, and answer someone else's question when you know the answer. That last one matters more than people expect —because explaining something is how you find out whether you actually understand it.

A few things I'd ask of you: keep it constructive, no product pitches, and no shaming anyone's starting point. Everyone in here started somewhere.

To get started, comment below with two things: what you're working on right now, and what's gotten in the way of it before. Be specific about the second one. Knowing what's actually derailed you in the past tells you more about what to change than any program will.

New name, same room.

This group is now "Progression Through Strength."

The old name described how I run my business. This one describes what you're here for. Nothing else changes: same group, same link, same people.

What did change is that I finally put words to the four things everything here is built on: Faith, Discipline, Stewardship, Community. Full breakdown is in the pinned post.

If you've been quiet in here for a while, this is a decent moment to say hello. What's the one thing you've been meaning to get back to?

Wrists screaming on front squats? Your grip is wrong for where your mobility is right now. Here are two fixes

Two options that let you load the bar today:

1️⃣ Cross grip: arms crossed, fingertips on the bar, elbows up. Easiest entry point.

2️⃣ Strap grip: loop straps over the bar, hold the tails, elbows high. Best if you want the clean-grip feel without the wrist demand.

The bar sits on your delts, not your hands. Your hands are just there to keep it from rolling. Once that clicks, front squats stop being a wrist exercise.

Save this for your next leg day. 🔖

Three years ago, most of these faces walked into my Anatomy & Physiology class as sophomores. They didn't know a sarcomere from a sagittal plane. This past Spring, they walked across a stage as graduates.

Somewhere in between, they did something no group at West Boca has done before: they set our school record for the highest NASM-CPT pass rate, with about 65% of them earning their certification as personal trainers before they even finished high school.

I want to be clear about what that number represents. It isn't talent. It's early mornings, practice exams, questions asked after the bell, and a room full of students who decided they'd rather be prepared than comfortable. I just got to stand in the room while they did it.

I've always believed that teaching is stewardship: that these students were never really mine, only entrusted to me for a season. God gave me two years with this group, and I don't take a single one of them for granted.

To the Class of 2026 Sports Medicine crew, thank you for letting me be a small part of a very big season of your lives. Go be the kind of professionals who make people better. You already know how.

Proud isn't a strong enough word. God, I'm just grateful.

Let's go get some more this year👊

Several years ago I had the opportunity to speak at the University of Central Florida about careers in Sports Medicine and Human Performance.

At the time, the goal was simple: help students understand that the health and fitness field is much broader than just “being a trainer.”

Under the sports medicine umbrella alone there are career paths such as:

✅ Athletic Training
✅ Strength & Conditioning
✅ Physical Therapy
✅ Sports Nutrition
✅ Exercise Physiology
✅ Biomechanics
✅ Sports Psychology
✅ Coaching & Performance Science

Many students initially assume the pathway into health and performance is narrow.

In reality, it’s one of the most interdisciplinary and opportunity-rich fields that exists.

Today I’m fortunate to see that same curiosity in my own classroom while teaching Exercise Science and Anatomy & Physiology.

Some students want to become physicians.
Others want to coach.
Others are interested in rehabilitation or human performance.

My role isn’t just to teach the material.

It’s to help students see what’s possible in the field.

Because sometimes a single conversation about a career path can help shape the direction of someone’s life.

And that’s one of the most rewarding parts of education.

Today a student asked me a really thoughtful question in class:

"If everyone knows junk food is bad…why do people still eat it?"

It’s a fair question.

My answer was simple:

Most food decisions aren’t about knowledge.

They’re influenced by things like:

❌ Stress
❌ Habits
❌ Environment
❌ Sleep
❌ Social pressure

Interestingly, this is the exact same pattern I see with adults I coach.

Most people don’t actually need another diet plan.

What they often need instead is:

✅ Better daily systems
✅ Better recovery
✅ Greater awareness of their behaviors

This idea is what led me to start developing The Introspect Method.

It’s not another diet.

It’s a framework focused on self-awareness, ownership, and strengthening your faith while improving your health.

Because real change doesn’t start with a meal plan.

It starts with how we think, live, and take responsibility for our choices.

As a health and fitness educator & coach, I'm seeing the same patterns many parents are noticing at home: more phone time, less movement, poor sleep, inconsistent nutrition, and kids struggling to stay focused.

Instead of guessing, I've started collecting anonymous student data to better understand how daily habits affect focus and overall well-being.

Anonymity matters: it allows students to be honest, and honest data leads to better solutions.

If we want healthier, more focused kids, awareness has to come before change.

Parents: what changes have you noticed in your own kids when it comes to screen time, sleep, or focus?

Every time I step into this facility, I’m reminded of how grateful I am for where God has led my career. What started with training adults in commercial & boutique gyms has grown into teaching, coaching, and shaping the next generation—right here in my own community.

Watching these students learn, grow, and gain confidence through movement is one of the most fulfilling parts of my work. Strength is bigger than reps and sets…it’s discipline, character, and belief in what’s possible.

I don’t take this responsibility lightly. I’m honored to pour into them the same way so many coaches poured into me. 🙏🏽

I am super GRATEFUL to these pioneers in the fitness industry! Knowledge and experience are major keys to everyday application. This is exactly what Alan, Brad, and Bret brought to their seminar.

While I’m still relatively new in the fitness business (~15 years), it’s really cool to see the come up these gents have made since I got started. Their extensive hard work, contributions, and dedication to fitness and nutritional sciences has not gone unnoticed as they packed out this seminar in beautiful Ft. Lauderdale!

Thanks to , , and for helping pave the way for me and many others. They’ve helped inspire and direct my career choices along with HOW I educate my clients and students. It was great seeing you guys again!

It’s also really inspiring to connect with so many other passionate fitness and nutrition pros from all over the world. It’s a true testament that doing what you love is not really work at all. It’s all about serving and inspiring others to live abundant lives!
