When towering cumulus congestus clouds grow rapidly, the intense updrafts push air straight up into the atmosphere. This rapid vertical movement forces the surrounding moist air upward past its dew point, creating entirely new secondary cloud formations called accessory clouds. I shot this around sunset in Jupiter Beach as storms were forming, so the sun in the back creates a beautiful xray of this cumulus cloud, and the rainbow like colors that hit those pileus clouds creates an astonishing natural effect.
