Did you know 23% of child drownings happen during a family gathering near a pool? During parties, BBQs, birthdays, and family events, distractions happen fast — and children can slip away to the swimming pool silently and unnoticed in seconds.

At Florida Swim School in Boca Raton, we believe layers of protection save lives. Water safety for kids should always include active adult supervision, pool fences, swim lessons, designated water watchers, and emergency preparedness. The 5 Layers of Protection help prevent drowning accidents before they happen.

If you’re hosting a pool party or spending time around water in South Florida this summer, assign one adult whose only job is watching the pool and water features at all times. Drowning is quick, silent, and preventable.

Enrolling children in swim lessons and water safety classes helps build confidence, stronger swimming skills, and life-saving habits around the water. Florida Swim School offers indoor swim lessons in Boca Raton for babies, toddlers, children, and adults year-round.

For the past 6 years, Florida Swim School has been honored to partner with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation USA to help provide free swim lessons and water safety education to children in our community. 💙

As the Foundation celebrates 10 years of drowning prevention and water safety advocacy, we want to recognize the incredible impact they’ve made for families across Florida and the United States. Founded by HSH Princess Charlene of Monaco, the Foundation continues to help give children life-saving swim skills, confidence in the water, and access to opportunities that every child deserves.

At Florida Swim School in Boca Raton, we see firsthand how swim lessons can change — and even save — lives. Through these grants, more children have been able to access essential water safety education, learn how to swim, and build confidence in and around the water.

Drowning remains one of the leading causes of accidental death for children, which is why partnerships like this are so important. We are beyond grateful to continue supporting the mission of making water safety education and swim lessons accessible to all families.

Thank you to the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation USA for a decade of impact and for helping us create safer swimmers for the next generation. 🌊

May is National Water Safety Month! 💙🌊

At Florida Swim School in Boca Raton, we’re proud to join , , , and in helping raise awareness about drowning prevention and the importance of water safety education for children and families.

As a leading indoor swim school in Boca Raton offering swim lessons for babies, kids, and adults, Florida Swim School believes water safety conversations should happen every single day — not just during the summer months.

All month long, we’ll be sharing water safety tips, drowning prevention resources, swim education tools, and ways families can stay safer around pools, beaches, and open water this summer ☀️🏊

We also encourage every parent, babysitter, grandparent, nanny, camp counselor, and caregiver to complete our Water Safety Caregiver Checklist before supervising children around water. This resource includes important water safety guidelines, emergency preparedness tips, and drowning prevention education every caregiver should know before watching kids near water.

Learning to swim is a life-saving skill, and creating safer swimmers starts with education, supervision, and confidence in the water.
How will your family celebrate National Water Safety Month?

Did you know that four-sided isolation pool fencing can prevent up to 50–90% of childhood drownings and near drownings? 🚨💦

During National Water Safety Month, Florida Swim School is helping families across Boca Raton and South Florida understand the importance of layers of protection around the water. A four-sided pool fence creates a barrier between children and the pool, helping prevent unsupervised access and reducing the risk of accidental drowning.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for young children, but water safety education, swim lessons for kids, active supervision, and proper pool safety barriers can save lives. Teaching children how to swim early and creating a safer home pool environment are critical steps every parent can take.

At Florida Swim School, we believe water safety is a life-saving skill. 🏊‍♀️
