The process.
•
Trusting it will bring you far.
•
Show up every day, follow the program, give all of yourself, stay present focusing on today only, not getting caught up in tomorrow because it only ruins our current presence.
•
6 years straight of showing up and asking the right questions looks like this.
•
The process didn’t really involve picking some lofty goal and only continuing if it was aligned with that goal. “If I don’t make it I’m done” type energy… because expectations are what cause burnout.
•
The process is just loving this s**t because it’s what we do.
•
The goal is merely just trying to improve every day, in some small little way. Always. Forever.
•
Getting more out of ourselves.. and doing that with great intensity, brings great things.
•
Video 2 is 180lbs squat clean when Katie first moved here 2020.
Video 3 is 180lbs sn**ch complex on stage at Wodapalooza elite 2024
•
Just always giving all of yourself when you show up gets you there.
Whatever self you’ve got, bring all of it.
•
It turns 3000th in the world to top 100. Top 100 turns into 6th in the world in her division at the .
•
We laugh about our efforts of trying to go to the CrossFit games forever. And that end goal is just a dangling carrot that keeps us accountable…
•
But it’s really all of us training together, trying to get the most out of ourselves, that is the real prize. To keep searching for hidden abilities. Digging them out by just trusting the process.
•
Katie starts this process over this weekend at trying to crown herself in California to get another shot at the CrossFit games.
•
Another opportunity to learn. And keep showing what trust looks like.

50 athletes in CrossFit HYPE qualified for the quarterfinals this year.
•
50.
It’s our 3rd year in a row of doing more than 50 athletes into quarterfinals
•
Top 25% in the world.
•
Someone asks me to talk about HYPE, I talk about it metaphorically.
•
Pick your gym as if you’re going to war. Who would you want to go to war with besides you.
•
I’ll let you choose.
•
You know where to find us.
•
I’m proud to be in a space surrounded by people who give a s**t.
•
People who care about their health, their consistency, their intensity, their peers. Push one another, keep each other accountable.
•
Show up and keep showing up.
•
Next year I want 100. 15 others were just under the cut line. And 20 not far off of that.
•
This weekend has been full of incredible efforts. One more day to send it to the moon 🌙. Scores due by 3pm.
•
Let’s see how many we can get into semifinals.

“I think we figured out how to stop aging”
•
Mel says as she’s leaving the gym on a random Sunday at 8:30am.
•
after showing up early to do extra work.
Alone.
Because she couldn’t make it on Friday from traveling across the state.
•
But it wasn’t just any extra work.
She wanted to do “Fran”. 21-15-9 thrusters/pullups.
•
Just because, it’s been a while..
•
Which is a bit mental…
•
she went :42 seconds faster than her previous time.
•
That was 8 years ago…
•
She’s 64 years old.
And getting better, at everything, literally every year.
•
Hit her first muscle up at 63 years old..
•
She’s proving it’s possible. To just keep improving.
•
This is her 14th open, in a ROW:
•
My opinion on “figuring out”, is she hasn’t stopped.
Not once. For anything. She makes time, always. Consistent as anyone, on earth. Potentially more. She’s going to be top 100 fittest in her class this year. And I’m fired up to know people like her.
•
Proud to have her on our team. Representing what it looks like to work. Endlessly. While improving every step of the way.
•
This is the way.

Care more.
•
That’s it. Just care more.
•
Trying new things, creates life.
•
Progressing in new things, is inevitable with consistency.
•
Being precise with your goals, is dangerous.
•
Being around people that call their shot, commit, and then make it happen… Is infectious.
•
Get close to someone who does this regularly… you’ll feel the difference. You soak it up when you’re around them.
•
No “I think I’m going to_____”, not “I want to ____”…
•
It’s “I’m going to ______”.
•
Put a date on it. Say it to someone. Write it down. And make it real. Make a contract with yourself.
And watch that s**t fly.
•
Life gets real when you start adding precision to what you want. Pick it EXACTLY. And then just stay working until you do it.
•
It took Joey 13 years to do it.
•
Started crossfitting then… and just hit it now.
•
Consistency pays.
•
He may have said it a long time ago… but this year he wanted to sn**ch 300lbs before the end of the year.
•
And said he was going to do it.
•
During a sn**ch ladder in class… got up to 265lbs…. And took an absolute mental jump from 265lbs straight to 300lbs … because nothing else matters… and did it.
•
He made that goal happen with a few days to spare.
•
Time for more

We teach through trial and effort. Doing the actual work.
Always.
•
I can’t tell you exactly what to do… But I can gain a greater understanding of trying a method personally, understanding how it felt and how I did, think about what I would change, and then we work together to dial in our findings on how it may best work for you.
•
That’s how we teach. We do it, we feel it, and then give you feedback. These methods aren’t found in a book somewhere. Takes a long while to teach this way.
•
It allows us to connect better with each athlete who is looking to understand themselves more, and how they themselves can get more fit, and go faster… because we’re looking for the same thing.
•
“In the trenches” is what we call it.
•
A few of our athletes are flying out to Missouri to compete in .. they’re unable to test the workouts after a late release.. so we’ll send them, all with different approaches to figure out how to best attack.
•
Last nights test
3 Rounds for time :
25 toes 2 bar
50ft farmers carry @ 420lbs
25 Chest 2 bar pullups
50ft farmers carry
•
Findings : find a set count you can maintain for entirety of workout regardless of size, it may be small but stick to it, to minimize large rest periods, break early and don’t get caught resting on any transition. Pick up the handles and go.
•
Excited to watch the crew out there throw down.

These are “my people”
•
“My people” try.
•
And try hard.
•
Just because.
•
I continue to get inspired by people that just try. Makes me feel at-home. It’s awesome to build with people so willing to do uncomfortable things. Getting out of their element by going out and doing this crazy thing we call CrossFit.
•
It’s so friggen tough out there, but the second you’re off the floor, you want another chance at doing it again…
•
And that’s what we go out and do. Work hard enough to give ourselves another chance.
•
Special to have everyone out here doing this year after year at .
•
The open begins tomorrow. Sign-up online and let’s show the world (again) who we are. so we can keep doing what we do on these big stages.

It’s go time.
•
The best time of the year.
•
To celebrate fitness, our community, our abilities, and our efforts over the past year.
•
To show gratitude to have the ability to be out here with all of these people doing this awesome thing...
•
A chance to inspire someone to push to do the same next year and be out here shoulder to shoulder.
•
We work all year to go out here and show the work we have done.
•
It’s worth it.
•
The work has been done.

What we were able to build in these past few weeks, more specifically in these past 2 days…. was nothing short of incredible.
•
I’m going to work on trying to explain in future posts… but it’s a bit mind boggling.
•
What is to come is many words for updates, for gratitude, for thankfulness, for descriptions, and many more things.
•
But it’s 4:17am. And the gym opens in about an hour.
•
So I’ll just leave you here with these.
•
Oh, and also… that we’re just getting started in here. This place is going to be unreal. Much more to come.
•
Building it brick by brick.
•
For our people.

You know where we’ll be.

Exactly 8 years ago, August 2016, Rick Stephano signed up for his first class at CrossFit HYPE.
•
Just as his daughter won the CrossFit Games as a teenager, and was a member for a couple of years already, he then decided he wanted to try CrossFit himself.
•
now… the tables have turned, because in this story, the egg came first.
•
Class after class. Week after week. Year after year. 8 years straight. He kept showing up.
•
8 years in on this journey, enters his first in the 55-59 year old age group.
•
An incredible journey filled with a few ingredients that have become familiar as the main driver of success in our sport.
•
Consistency, resiliency, intensity.
•
Bad day? Still shows up
Shoulder hurts? Still shows up
Drama? Still shows up
Worked late? Still shows up
Opportunity to succeed? Take it and go all in.
•
Rick defines this thing we do called “selling your soul” with almost every single workout he attempts. Inspiring to show us, we too can go harder. And it’s the reason he is where he is.
•
To have a figure in our lives, who supports those around him the way he does, but just found a way to progress step by step, training alongside us daily…. Is a gift.
•
To understand it isn’t about “being special” or gifted… it’s about grit and accountability.
•
Proud of his example, and excited to watch him work this weekend.
•
Time to sell your soul on that floor, in true Rick “the legend” Stephano fashion.

13,000 affiliates world wide.
•
From the 13,000 affiliates, only 356 teams move on into team quarterfinals.
•
From the 356 teams in quarterfinals, only 210 teams move on into semifinals.
•
From the 210 teams in quarterfinals, worldwide, there are only 16 gyms that advanced more than 1 team from their gym into these final stages to qualify for the CrossFit games.
•
We are one of those 16 gyms.
•
We are in pretty elite company with Mayhem, Invictus, Oslo, amongst others who have the ability to do this from their gym.
•
And it makes me proud to know we don’t just get people healthy, give purpose, save lives, but also can compete at this level doing it our own way.
•
This is . And we’re ready to go all in.
