First Win of the Lagos Era! 🐾

Congratulations to Head Coach Jonathan Lagos on earning his first victory at Gardner-Webb! The Runnin’ Bulldogs went on the road Saturday night and defeated Coastal Carolina 2-1 for their first win of the 2026 season.

Tim Kreuzpeinter and Bashir Mansur found the back of the net for the Dawgs as Gardner-Webb built a 2-0 first-half lead and held strong down the stretch to secure the victory.

Congratulations to Coach Lagos, his staff, and the entire Men’s Soccer program on the first of many!

A new chapter begins at the Frank and Flossie Bonner Athletic Complex! 🎉

This morning, we celebrated the ribbon cutting for our new weight room, made possible by many gifts from Bulldog Nation and part of an anonymous $1.5 million gift.

This incredible investment will provide Gardner-Webb student-athletes with a premier training space that supports their pursuit of excellence both on and off the field. We are grateful for the generosity that continues to strengthen the future of Runnin' Bulldog Athletics.

🐾 Yesterday, our Runnin' Bulldogs Football team joined university staff for Campus Service Day, helping move new furniture into HAPY Dorm. Their hard work will help create a welcoming home for campers staying on campus in the coming weeks and for future Bulldogs who will call Gardner-Webb home in the years ahead.

We’re proud of these student-athletes for serving the Gardner-Webb community and making an impact both on and off the field.

Quentin Peterson capped off one of the best seasons in Gardner-Webb history with a Top-20 finish in the nation in men's shot put at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

He becomes just the fourth Runnin' Bulldog to compete at an NCAA Division I national championship and joins GWU legend Alex Young as the only Bulldog throwers to qualify for both the Indoor and Outdoor National Championships in the same year.

Welcome to Gardner-Webb Women’s Soccer, Coach Samantha Thomsit! ⚽🐾

Coach Thomsit brings more than a decade of coaching experience and a proven track record of building successful programs both on and off the field. Most recently at Spring Hill College, she led one of the top turnarounds in women’s college soccer while helping student-athletes thrive competitively and academically.

We are excited to welcome Coach Thomsit and her husband, Walker, to the Gardner-Webb family and cannot wait for this next chapter of Runnin’ Bulldog soccer!

Congratulations to Sara-Michael Jann and Jacob Jensen of Gardner-Webb Swimming on being named recipients of the 2025-26 Big South Conference George A. Christenberry Award — one of the conference’s highest academic honors recognizing graduating student-athletes with the top GPA during their collegiate careers.

Sara-Michael capped off an outstanding career in the pool while earning a perfect 4.0 GPA and ASUN All-Academic Team honors. Jacob closed his Gardner-Webb career with personal-best performances in the pool while also earning ASUN All-Academic and CSC Academic All-District recognition.

We are proud to celebrate these two incredible student-athletes who continue to represent Gardner-Webb with excellence both in competition and in the classroom.
