This past weekend our Carolina Blue Jays 9U competed in the Cinco De Mayo Tournament. The team had one rough inning in both games played Saturday and resulted in us falling short in both games. Sunday the boys came to play with the proper mindset and attitude. I'm extremly proud of their work ethic and demeanor on the field Sunday resulting in a second place finish in the Silver Bracket. They are growing as a team every opportunity we hit the field.

I would like to thank our Tournament Sponsor: La Paz Mexican Restaurant & Grill located at 403 Bellport Dr, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. We greatly appreciate you supporting our team this spring!

Tournament MVP - Defense: This week we are switching up our MVPs slightly going with 3 defensive players that stood out. I want to congratulate 3 individuals that completely shutdown any balls in to the outfield this weekend: #2 Sheldon Lister, #5 Brooks Michalove, #15 Jackson Jolley. All three of these players played lights out in the outfield this weekend, not just in making routine plays but being alert every pitch, ensuring their responsibilities were covered on every play. Combined they converted on 10 Put Outs and threw 2 runners out. Extremely proud of all 3 of these young mens play, effort, and attentiveness this weekend.

Continue to work hard and focus on the things YOU can control and the desired outcome will come! Let’s get back to work Blue Jays
