It has been a long few weeks and I want to commend all who participated in the D2 school board election. It’s wonderful to see and experience everyone’s passion to serve our D2 community, students, parents and staff! I look forward to working with all to inspire and transform D2. The BEST is YET to COME! Thank you for your VOTE.

On the EVE of Election Day 2025, I’m encouraging you to VOTE! You can BANK on Connie BANKS to support students, teachers, staff, parents and the community as your D2 board member. As a retired teacher, district ML coach, parent, grandparent as well as community member, I pledge to constantly be a learner in order to continue serving the D2 constituents.

Friday, October 31st is the final day to vote early. As a public servant it is essential to be a learner in order to lead. A VOTE for Connie BANKS will secure continuous learning which will lead D2 success.

• Safety First-SROs in all schools; D2 implemented security systems
• Covid-19 pandemic survival plan
• Promoted milestones in D2 Academics-Best of the Best in South Carolina
• Completed 14 major facility upgrades
• Prioritized recruitment and retention of high-quality teachers with increase of pay and incentives
• Advocated for enhanced fine arts programs as well as athletics as we celebrated championships with all
• Amplified D2 early childhood education in addition to curriculum and professional growth for educators
• Collaborated with other trustees in hiring two superintendents

Goals for My Next Term
1. Lead with Excellence — I will strive daily to be a better Trustee and leader. As John Maxwell says, “Everything rises and falls on leadership.”
2. Foster Collaboration and Transparency — I will continue working to strengthen communication and trust across our D2 organization. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” — Laozi
3. Build a Stronger Future Together — See the vision, share the picture, and engage others to elevate the performance of our D2 team.
