This week’s NBFC Spotlight is Amar Sabic, a player who has truly grown alongside North Boise FC. 💙⚽

Amar has been a member of the NBFC Galacticos since day one, and now, as he heads into his senior year, we’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from a young player into a leader and coach within our club.

This summer, Amar has been on the field every day coaching at our NBFC Summer Camps. He isn’t someone who looks for the spotlight—he’s quiet, dependable, and steady. He shows up, puts in the work, and makes our community better simply by being someone his teammates, younger players, and coaches can count on.

There’s something pretty special about watching a player grow up with the club and then turn around and give his time back to the next generation of NBFC players.

🌟 North Boise FC Spotlight 🌟

This week’s Spotlight is Anthony Ellering, Head Coach of our U12 Boys Capitol team! 💙⚽

Anthony’s journey with us began years ago when his boys first started in School Of Soccer Boise . He coached in our School of Soccer Select League before transitioning to North Boise FC alongside his sons and many of the same players. Since then, he has become an incredible leader, mentor, and role model within our club.

Anthony is deeply passionate about helping every player grow—not just as a soccer player, but as a person. He invests countless hours encouraging, teaching, and challenging his players to become confident teammates, resilient competitors, and kind young people.

His commitment extends beyond the soccer field. Each year, his team participates in Rake Up Boise, giving back to our community and demonstrating that being part of a team also means serving others.

Anthony’s impact is made even stronger by the incredible support of his family. His wife is one of his biggest supporters, and together with Anthony’s parents, they can be found on the sidelines cheering on the team week after week. Their encouragement and commitment help create the family atmosphere that makes North Boise FC so special.

This summer, Anthony also went above and beyond during our club tryouts, stepping up to help lead and mentor fellow coaches and making the experience a success for players, families, and staff alike.

We are incredibly grateful for everything Anthony does for North Boise FC, both on and off the field. His passion for developing players, servant-hearted leadership, and dedication to our club leave a lasting impact on everyone around him.

As a small token of our appreciation, Anthony and his family will be attending the August 1 AC Boise match! And to make the day even more special... August 1 is Anthony’s birthday! 🎉🥳

Congratulations to Quinn, our latest North Boise FC Player Spotlight winner!

Quinn has earned this recognition through his outstanding work ethic, positive attitude, and commitment to his team. Over the past few years, he has continued to grow as both a player and teammate, consistently giving his best effort in every practice, training session, and game.

Quinn is the kind of player who defines what it means to be truly coachable. His willingness to learn, accept feedback, and consistently put the team’s success above his own makes him an exceptional athlete and teammate. He supports and encourages his teammates, leads by example with an outstanding work ethic, and sets the standard for effort, attitude, and sportsmanship both on and off the field. Quinn is the type of player every coach hopes to have. His positive attitude and quiet confidence make those around him better. It was my pleasure to coach him for two years and watch the wonderful young man he’s becoming!

One teammate’s parent shared:
“Quinn is an all-around great player and teammate. We have had the privilege of watching him grow and develop over the past two years. He consistently works hard in practice and training sessions, always giving his best effort. One of Quinn’s greatest strengths is his calm and steady presence on the field. He remains focused and composed during high-intensity moments. His quiet confidence, strong work ethic, and team-first attitude make him a valuable player and an awesome role model.”

This week, we’re proud to recognize Shawn Solberg for his outstanding commitment to North Boise FC and the players he serves.

Shawn consistently goes above and beyond—not only for his own team, but for the entire club. When we had more players register than expected this season, he didn’t hesitate to step up and coach a second team, ensuring that more kids had the opportunity to play and develop.

His dedication doesn’t stop there. Every Sunday, Shawn voluntarily hosts an open play session, giving players another chance to get touches on the ball, compete, and simply enjoy the game. He coaches with genuine passion, sharing his love for soccer in a way that inspires players to work hard, improve, and have fun.

Coaches like Shawn embody what North Boise FC is all about: putting players first, fostering a love for the game, and building a stronger soccer community.
