✨Teacher Spotlight✨ A few questions with Taylor Vulgamore
Taylor Vulgamore
🧘♀️What do you think are the most interesting/compelling aspects of yoga?
“What’s most interesting to me is how many people come to yoga looking for a physical workout, and leave having a deeply transformative, intimate, and meditative experience. We quickly realize that yoga is so much more than movement or exercise. Through viewing the body as the vessel we experience life through, we begin to uncover how connected the body and mind truly are.”
“Yoga creates connection. Connection to ourselves, to the collective, to our breath, to the present moment, and to the world around us. Beyond the asana practice, yoga becomes a way of living. It has this beautiful, almost sneaky way of changing your life and the way you move through the world.”
🤍What are your main values as a teacher and a human?
“Authenticity, growth, and self-love are a foundational value of both my teaching and humanness. To me, yoga is about making the practice your own. It’s moving in ways that feel supportive, honest, and true to your body, mind, and soul. This requires us to learn how to distinguish between what is authentic and what is fear, what is simply compliance or conditioning and what is honor self.”
“I am deeply driven by growth, curiosity, and play. I believe we all have immense mental, emotional, and physical capabilities, but we often limit ourselves through mindset and fear of failure. When growth comes from a place of self-love, play, curiosity, and a desire to fully experience life, it becomes incredibly empowering and rewarding.”
🪷What do you wish you could tell all of the students who come to your classes?
“This is your practice. Your body, your experience, your life.”
“One of my favorite things as a teacher is seeing students modify, intensify, rest, play, and move intuitively. This shows me you’re listening to and trusting yourself. You’re building an intimate relationship with your body, your limits, your intuition.”
“I want my classes to be a safe space to become grounded enough to hold your aliveness. Not a place to transcend life, but inhabit it.”
