Today, the snow bike industry is on fire and many, people are looking for the challenge of racing a National Championship Snow Bike Racing Series.

And one more thing. I haven't heard of a snowmobile cross country race in MANY years in the West. Here's one, and if I were a fired up, 30 year old wanting to go racing (I'm a lot older than that now), I would reach out to these guys and see if they will add a snowbike class. We have talked for years about a cross country race for snowbikes, but I don't think that anyone ever did it. Call them and ask!

Well nuts, I hate to post bad news, but there is some good stuff too. THE BAD NEWS: there is NOT going to be a snowbike or snowmobile or UTV race this year at Diamond Lake, Oregon. I apologize for lots of on-again, off-again stuff and date shifting. It is hard to believe how much the world has changed since I hosted the world's first-ever snowbike race at McCall exactly 16 years ago in 2009. Sixteen years isn't very long, but it feels like 100. Today's kits are light years better than the original 2Moto kits that started everything, and riders are doing things out there that we wouldn't have dreamed of in 2009. What finally shut us down this year is not being able to find a date that worked for everyone. THE GOOD NEWS: Yeti is back! I had no idea, but they reached out to me wanting to be our title partner at Diamond Lake and show off their cool, new kits. But then we couldn't find a date that worked for everyone and would have allowed Brock Hoyer to attend, (and everyone wants to race Brock)! I also learned that a LOT of fast guys have switched over from 120" racing kits to 129" backcountry kits, so in the future there needs to be a 129 pro class. And lastly, there is even more excitement and support for Allen's Mtn. Top kits than I thought. The master just keeps outdoing himself! Diamond Lake remains the PERFECT place to do a snowbike race and they have tons of snow right now. I want to encourage everyone that has never been there, or was planning on going to the race this year, to pay them a visit. I also learned that for the future, the earlier the better, so when the race finally does return in 2026, I want to do it in January, because by February and especially March, a lot of you guys are ready to hit the dirt again. I am thrilled that Yeti has returned and I hope to work with them next year. Here's one of my favorite photos of racing at Diamond Lake, Jimmy Jarrett tearing it up about 6 years ago. Ron Dillon

Sorry for the date changes. MARCH 15-16 is the date. HONEST!

At this point I am 90% certain that the Diamond Lake Snowbike Race will be held on February 1-2. I have confirmed that the Bend Arenacross is the following weekend (an event that we definitely do NOT want to conflict with). Further updates soon.

After making a number of calls to a number of sources, I am definitely going to host my first snowbike race since February, 2023. This will be a 2-day race at Diamond Lake, Oregon. I have a choice of two different dates: either February 1-2, 2025 OR March 1-2, 2025. Before I lock it down, I want to ask a few of my peeps which date works best for you, and do you know of any competing events that could hurt. There aren't very many snowbike races currently so I want this one to be really successful for everyone.

Coming up at the end of March, at the old Ontario Golf Course, next to the airport Ontario Speedway. Fire up that 4-wheeler, or dirt bike and enjoy some fun, safe racing in a tight, twisty, no jump, track. Kids classes, trophies and a Kids-12 & Under Easter Egg Hunt. www.ontariospeedway.com.

It's nice to know that I still have the power to control the weather. John and I both agreed that if I cancelled the snowbike race due to no snow, it would then snow several feet at Diamond Lake. And it did. Hooray for me!

We just switched the date for the only snowcross and snowbike race in Oregon. Conflicts with the Superbowl, and the Redmond Arenacross were a problem, so we switched to March 1-3, with practice on Friday, racing on Saturday and Sunday. More info coming soon.

Rumors have been flying about Ontario Speedway. We are NOT going to hold any sprint boat races in 2024. So far, the facility has lost a breath-taking amount of money, and we need to take a pause on racing to get everything caught up. Nothing is cheap these days and it cost over $100,000 MORE to build the facility than was originally forecast. Second, we have now run five races over the last two years, (three with the USJSA and two with USB) and we never got more than 1,100 paying spectators. The entire model was built on the idea that we could average 2,000 + spectators, and so far, we haven't even gotten close. Why? Well, it's complicated, and it will take time to fix. Rest assured that sprint boat racing is not done at Ontario Speedway, just paused for 2024, and we ARE going to hold two, possible three test and tuning Saturday events. A number of racers have come to us requesting this, since you can't really take a sprint boat out in any old swamp, lake or river and turn it loose. We hope that you will test and tune with us in 2024, and the chances are very high that racing will return in 2025. And, we will be holding several other really cool racing events (motorcycle, 4-wheeler, and feet) at Ontario Speedway in 2024, with more details to come soon.
