When a double run causes such a mess you don't even bring to the cradle. What a disaster!!! Still don't know how the hook stayed through that. It knitted a sweater out of the lines. Thank you Jason Edwards for your help with the trouble double.

Idaho carp social was a good time. A few of the many captures. Many lovely fish caught this year at the social. This was all done without pre-baiting or spodding. Thank you to all who came out. Had some wonderful bank side conversations.

Shrink tube, kickers or nothing? I usually use nothing but on occasion I play with shrink tube. I choose shrink tube because it gives me more options then just a kicker.

Time to play with rig mechanics. All 3 hooks are size 6. I have changed my thoughts and theories over the years. Lately I have been thinking of a rig more like a grappling hook. The carp takes the bait into its mouth. Then as the hook falls downward. The hook needs to get a grip before being set by the lead. As if you throw a grappling hook upward over a wall then pull down ward towards the ground. Until you have tension against the hook. I mostly fish bottom bait boilies. Sometimes with method, pva bags and mesh. Everyone knows I like the ability to adapt my bait. I like to be able to change from a 24mm to an 18 mm boilie or even down to a single piece of floating corn. So I tend to use D loop or the bait loop. Using bait floss or mono line to attach my boilies. I have started paying attention to the line after I tie a rig. I will hold the end and toss the hook outward. Does the line want to coil? How does the line react when I push the pull line. Trying to catch the problems before I attach it to my rod.

Playing with hexagon hook baits and pellets for pva mesh and bags. A different concept I have wanted to play with. The hook baits are next to a 24 mm boilie. All these are clam bake for my little experiment.

Spring is in the air when the clam bake is being rolled.

Going to be out at the social talking bait. If anyone is interested in coming out. If you have any questions about bait or rigs. This is a great opportunity to ask me. Of course you can always message me.

Finished the day with a 13lb pounder. Not a bad day at all.
