Sadly, our event planned for Quail Ridge in Oregon this coming week was canceled due to the low number of entries. I am sure it may have been impacted by the recent fires, heat and the smoke.

Fortunately our event September 4 & 5, at Eagle Hills Golf Course is filling up quickly. The format will be a 2 Person Best Ball/ Scramble. The entry fee is $150 per person walking or $180 with cart. To register use the link below and you will be taken to the Eagle Hills Portal. The registration is setup to register as a team so you will either pay $300 walking or $360 with a cart. The Deadline to register is September 30th.

If you have a pass at Eagle, you will need to contact either [email protected] or [email protected] to register.

Reserve September 19 & 20 for our event at Jerome Country Club. The format is a 2 Person Best Ball/Scramble. The entry fee is $134 per person with cart and $98 walking. We are in the process of determining whether we will use Tee Times, Shot Gun or both. It will most likely be based on entries. To register please call Jerome Country Club at 208-324-5281. We will have Skins Day 1 (Net Only).

Our last event for 2024 takes us to Purple Sage October 2 for a 2 Person Scramble. Registration info to follow later.

2024 ISGA Best Ball / Scramble Event :: Rules Sheet

Senior Golfers:

Well our first event of the season did not goes as planned. Mother Nature was the overall winner. We had two weather delays during Day 1. Day 2 had to be canceled due to the weather and course conditions. Although we were not able to complete the event we still have results and winners from the Best Ball Day 1. Congratulations to those that won (Results are attached). We also wish to thank Damian, Matt and the entire staff at River Birch for their hard work in running this event. (River Birch will be refunding half your entry for those who entered).

Time is running out to register for our next event at Clear Lake Country Club, April 16 & 17. This will be an Eclectic Format. The entry fee is $88 walking and $120 with cart. We will use a 1 PM Shotgun Day 1 and a 9am Shotgun Day 2. Deadline to register is April 12. To register contact the course directly at 208-543-4849.

We will be at Shadow Valley May 1 & 2 for an Eclectic Format Event. The entry fee is $149 walking and $189 with cart. Welcome to the Idaho Senior Golfers Association. We were established to provide competitive tournaments for our Idaho senior men and women (50+). Our tournaments are all weekdays with a majority being two-day events. We utilize a variety of formats such as 2 Person BB/Scramble, Eclectic and Stoke play depending on the course.
Several years ago, there was talk of the decline in golf, however Covid-19 changed all that. The courses now are busy than ever. This leaves us in a challenging situation to arrange our events. We work with a number of courses to insure availability and budget friendly entry fees.
In 2023 we held 14 events throughout Idaho and 1 in Jackpot. This year we will still hold 15 events with the addition of Quail Ridge in Baker City, Or. Our average number of players continues to be about 90 per event. We paid out more than $90,000 in prize money. Our Hole-In-One club saw 3 winners this year with one member having two of those.

We now accept credit cards to pay for membership and when necessary, pay for an event. We will keep you posted on how to register for each event.
We are looking for volunteers to join our Board. Board members meet 4 times a year to strategize. They also work with the course pros on a few events.

Based on the comments at Meadow Creek, we had another great event. We wish to thank Stepheny and her entire staff for being so organized in putting our tournament together. We also want like to recognize one of our members, Calvin Fillmore for his assistance. The final results are attached. Congratulations to the winners.

The next big event will be at Jackpot July 26 & 27. This will also be an Eclectic Format. This is always a popular event and fills up quickly. I understand we already have over 120 players, therefore if you wait, you maybe placed on a Wait List. The entry fee is $120 and includes a cart. We will be using an 8 AM Shotgun both days. We are rapidly approaching our State Championship which will be held August 9 & 10 at Eagle Hills Golf Course. You must be a member of the ISGA and have entered at least one of our 2023 events prior to be eligible. No Exceptions. The entry fee is $174 with cart and $130 walking. We are looking for volunteers to serve on the Board. In order for the Association to continue we need assistance from our members. We typically hold 3-4 meetings a year. Board members work with the various clubs to ensure Flights, Payouts and Registration make for a successful event. We would certainly like to have someone with computer skills, but its not a requirement.

Our 2023 season is off to a great start. We have been averaging over 100 players in our past events. We have 108 this coming week at Scotch Pines.

We will be at Terrace Lakes Resort June 21 for a 2 Person Scramble. This has been a very popular event with a large turnout. We are very close to our limit with over 100 players already registered. The entry fee is $65 per person which includes your cart. We will be using Tee Times starting at 9 am. The deadline to enter is June 19th. Following Terrace Lakes we will be at Twin Falls Muni June 28 & 29 for a 2 Day Medal Play event. The entry fee is $114 with cart and $82 walking. Lunch the last day is included. As a reminder, in order to enter our State Championship at Eagle Hills. you must have entered at least two of our events prior to. Secondly the overall Men's and Women's Champions are not eligible for the IGA Tournament of Champions as has been available in the past. The IGA made that decision based on us not being an Associated Club.

It sure was a bit windy our first day at Jerome. The second day weather was just perfect. The course and especially the greens were in great shape. We had one of our larger fields of the season with 120 players. We wish to thank Troy and his entire staff for another great event. The final results are attached. Congratulations to the winners.

A few months ago, I mentioned the lack of Hole in Ones during our tournaments. Well we just had our third with Arnie Ringenberg Acing Number 12 at Jerome. He was a huge winner as he had also entered Jerome's Hole in One pot. As a reminder, Richard Primmer had one at Canyon Springs and Scott Bullock had one at Meadow Creek.

Our final event of 2022 will be October 5 at Purple Sage Golf Course. This is a 2 Person Scramble. The entry fee is $50 walking and $62 with cart. It will be an 11 am Shotgun. To register please call Purple Sage at 208-459-2223. The deadline to register is September 30.

Our Winter Getaway in 2023 will be in Mesquite with Falcon Crest being our first course February 14. We will then play Casa Blanca on the 15th and the Palmer on the 16th. As we did this past year, the first 2 days will be a Chicago format and then Medal Play the final day. The cost will be $425 which includes the three days of golf with cart and the prize fund paid out as we did this past year. We also have a special rate for the Casa Blanca Hotel. Dear Members

Well we had a few rain drops the first day of our event at Scotch Pines but overall the weather was great. The course was in great shape although difficult for some. Congratulations to the winners. Well it seems we are having a difficult time getting two straight days of good weather. Day 1 at Eagle Hills was perfect, Day 2 a bit blustery to say the least. Congratulations to the winners. As luck would have it, we had some great weather for our event at Shadow Valley. Based on the scores, it appears the course was the big winner. Attached are the final results. Our next event is at Eagle Hills Golf Course for a 2 Day Best Ball/Scramble May 18 & 19. You must register on line using the link below. The registration was setup that when registering you must enter your partners Name, Email, GHIN and Phone Number. You will also need to pay the full entry fee of $240/Team. Cart fee is not included and will be collected the day of the event. Registration closes May 13th at 11am.

Following Eagle Hills we will have a 2 Day Medal Play event at River Birch Golf Course. The date for this event is June 1 & 2. More details to follow within the next week.

Recently we have had some players withdraw from an event for a variety of reasons. We want to let you know our policy which is on our web site states (golfisga.org/membership) :

In order for a golfer to have their Entry Fee refunded, the golfer must cancel their entry prior to the Entry Deadline. A refund for a cancellation after the Entry Deadline due to an emergency, needs to be approved by an ISGA Officer.

This policy is not meant to discourage players entering, however the deadlines are established to allow time to gather needed information, create flights, tee times and payouts.
