THE WORK YOU DON’T ALWAYS SEE 🔧
Appreciation for our mechanic, Rafael A. German Meran
Being a team mechanic is not an easy job. Long days, early mornings, late nights, constant attention to detail, and the pressure of knowing that when a rider rolls to the start line, everything has to work.
And here’s the funny thing about being a great mechanic: when you do your job perfectly, nobody notices.
The bikes shift. The equipment is ready. The riders race. And everyone moves on to the next thing.
That’s exactly when we need to remember to say thank you.
And when something does go wrong as it inevitably will in bike racing, that’s when encouragement and trust matter most. Mechanics are solving problems under pressure, often with very little time and a whole team depending on them.
Rafael has carried a tremendous amount of responsibility for this team, taking care of our equipment and, ultimately, taking care of our athletes.
So this one is simply about giving credit where it’s due.
Thank you, We notice. We appreciate you. 💙
