Foxtrot Hill Farm Foxtrot Hill Farm provides care that supports physical health, mental wellbeing, and partnerships.

Our track system provides freedom, friendship, and forage to our herd of 6 horses. We also have 2 mini donkeys, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and a ball python.

Come along while I do night check! It was surprisingly spooky and dark already at 7:30 and I needed to use my head lamp.

The herd is settling in and we are anticipating our final herd member at the end of the month.

Banjo enjoying the new enrichment on the track. We are currently putting hay in it, though other things like carrots can be included. I have all my hay bags on the ground or low to the ground as horses are natural foragers, this toy enables them to tree graze as they would in the wild.

One of my Summer projects has been clearing around the paddocks. It will enable us to fix fences, keep ticks and flys down, and of course we can ride around it:) I have mainly been clearing the vegetation with the zero turn, much to Josh’s dismay. Well I finally ran into a spot that couldn’t be cleared without the tractor.

I wanted to keep the fence intact while enabling Josh to bring the tractor back there and clear. This was my fix and it works really well. The boards come right off and then can easily be put back up, resting on the bar holders.

On to the next and I can’t wait for the perimeter of the farm to be cleared:)

It’s been alot of changes for this guy and I’m happy to see he is feeling more and more comfortable.

Musings from the back side of the track…The herd is settling in from the transition of three herd mates leaving and the merging of the two groups into one herd. I see a lot more movement and the herd is finding their rhythm. It was nice to sit out there and watch them move around the track, eat hay, and interact with each other.

This is the first barn he has truly loved and felt most comfortable in, I have never seen him so happy and healthy. Just over a week ago Josh and I trailered Newton to his new home in Maine. He is all settled in at Harmony Horse Farm-Natural Track Boarding and is doing very well! I was excited to be able to visit another farm with a track system and the owner gave us a tour of her facility. It was fantastic and I came away with lots of ideas. More on our tour to later!
