Aerox Aviation Oxygen Systems was featured on the front page of AOPA: your freedom to fly today with an article on hypoxia, and why what we teach student pilots about 14 CFR Part 91.211 will not keep them safe. We also highlight the origins of that rule dating back to the late 1960s, and how 12,500' came to be the altitude that every pilot (wrongly) has drilled into their minds as the altitude below which we don't have to worry about hypoxia or supplemental oxygen.
The reality is we should be using supplemental oxygen when we need it, which is typically around 8,000'.
