Looking for something to do before now and Halloween? Before the wet and dark devours us all? Great news, I have just the thing. On Friday evening 9/25 and Saturday 9/26 the 3rd annual Pioneer Highland Games will be taking place at McMillan Farm and Brewhouse. On Friday night the flaming hammer toss (yes, you read that right) will take place followed by the games themselves on Saturday.

What are Highland Games, you ask? The games originated in the Scottish Highlands as a way for clans to test the strength, skill, and speed. They consist of a series of competitons involving throwing various heavy objects. Perhaps the most famous might be the caber toss. My training company Imperiya Barbell WORX (Tehaleh's own) will be on site offering free and fun tests of strength. Some with prizes! Also on hand will be a musical performance by Ockham's Razor, a high-energy Celtic rock and folk-fusion band based in Seattle. So come on down and enjoy some brews, tunes, and heavy athletics!
