2026 USTA Nationals Day 4:
Day 4 was a long day for us where we had the very 1st competitor on Rod Floor #2 & and closed down the facility with the 2nd to last competitor on Rod Floor #2.
Our sub advanced double mini athletes took the stage. All 3 of the athletes this was their 1st year at sub advanced a level that difficulty now becomes a big factor in their scores & placing. All 3 athletes did 3 great passes and all achieved many personal goals.
Melanie finished 5th in her flight and 19th overall with 3 solid passes - things are gonna get fun from here on out as it is time to get to work on higher difficulty.
Amanda did her 2 flip pass AND got credit for her barani. Had a little mishap where she touched the double mini afterwards keeping her out of a to0 10 finish. Finishing 7th in her flight & 13th overall.
Senior Lexi performed her LAST competition passes and did her 2 flip pass awesome! She finished 6th in her flight & 12th overall.
Coach Rose is smiling pretty pretty big for all 3 of you sub advanced double mini athletes (you all have a special place in her double mini heart)
Our beginner tumblers started the day with little Maya as the 1st competitor of the day and she did amazing passes. She finished 3rd in her flight and 16th overall.
Sweet Izabella had great warmups but had a little bobble on her 1st pass & only did 4 rolls. Her 2nd pass was great! She finished 9th in her flight & 44th overall.
Dimitri performed a new front tumbling pass, even though he didn't get credit for the new skill it was still enough for a NATIONAL CHAMPION TITLE! Finishing 1st in his flight & 1st overall.
Our beginner 9 year olds wrapped up the day & was the VERY LAST group in the facility competing & getting awards. This group of girls is a special group of kids with discipline, focus, determination & a friendship unlike the norm & had the potential to place well at nationals in this event. They each got the talk if you got to pick one moment in time to be perfect this is that moment. They had what it takes but they had to be flawless if they wanted to place.
Aaliyah started her age group the 1st competitor in flight one with a really good back pass with only a couple visible flaws and brought in some decent scores. She showed em' what she was made of on her 2nd pass bringing in a score of 9.7 & 9.8! Setting the bar pretty high for the rest of the age group. Finishing 1st in her flight.
Up next was Bella I flight 4 performing 2 amazing passes receiving good scores on both of her passes which gave her a 2nd place finish in her flight & a score that with her teammate Aaliyah!
2nd to last in this group & of the day was Gracelyn. Quite nervous but got her all squared away for competition and she brought in good scores on both of her passes finishing .2 above her teammates Aaliyah & Bella finishing 1st in her flight and a NATIONAL CHAMPION TITLE and Aaliyah & Bella tied as NATIONAL RUNNER UPS out of 34 athletes!
All I can say as a coach is it just doesn't get any better than that. Had 3 athletes in the group & why not have 3 athletes in 1st & 2nd for a clean sweep!
Afterwards had a little sentimental talk about their hardwork this season & that we will hope that we get a team trophy in the morning!
It was a great way to end the day!
