At 18, I’d come to Prospect Terrace to thank God, clear my head, and figure out my next move. Then I’d call my mom for advice.
Yesterday, I brought Madeline. Same view. This time, I was giving the advice.
She shared some frustrations about school. I listened, then launched the Dad keynote. Being a parent is challenging, being a girl dad has been a blessing.
“Princess, one difficult year doesn’t decide your future. Keep learning, adapt, and give a little more effort than you did yesterday. This is you versus you, that’s the mindset daddy will teach you.”
We talked about her dreams, where she’ll travel, and the companies she might build. I offered to join the board. Hugs and lunch. Extremely competitive compensation.
I told her to remember this day. Someday, when Daddy isn’t here to remind her, I want her to remember how completely I believed in her.
Keep your faith, Maddie. Dream big. Do the work. We’ll figure things out along the way.
Love you 3000🌷❤️
