💡 Coach’s Advice for this week:
1️⃣ Sleep: It’s the best performance enhancer.
2️⃣ Hydrate: Your body cannot transport nutrients to rebuild muscle efficiently if you are dehydrated.
3️⃣ Move gently: Active recovery (walking, light swimming) > sitting on the couch all day.

Respect the recovery so you can crush the next block. 🔋

🧠 The Science of “Bonking” (and how to avoid it)
Ever hit the wall so hard you couldn’t move? That’s not just “being tired”—that is physiology in action.
The Fact: Your body has a limited storage of Glycogen (carbohydrate energy) in the muscles and liver—usually enough for only 90–120 minutes of intense exercise. Once that tank is empty, your brain forces your muscles to slow down to preserve glucose for vital functions. This is the “bonk.”
🧪 The Fix:
For any event lasting longer than 90 minutes (like an Olympic distance or 70.3), you must fuel exogenously. You can’t just rely on breakfast.
• Aim for: 60g–90g of carbs per hour on the bike.
• Timing: Start fueling within the first 20 minutes, not when you feel hungry.
Don’t let your engine run dry. Eat to compete! 🍎⚡

Triathlon isn’t about finding a comfort zone. It’s about getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.
Every early morning swim, every long ride in the headwind, and every track session is building more than just fitness—it’s building character.

Running off the bike? 🚴‍♂️ ➡️ 🏃‍♂️
It is normal for your legs to feel heavy when you start the run. We call this “Jelly Legs.”
Don’t worry. You are not tired, your body is just adjusting.
The Tip:
Focus on short, quick steps.
Don’t try to take big strides. Just keep your feet moving fast. Give your body 5 minutes to warm up. The heavy feeling will go away, and you will find your rhythm.
Keep moving forward! 💪
