Hey Peeps!
I’m still here, chugging along! Wanted share a significant personal milestone. After years of grinding it out, I finally reached the Hall of Fame status for . For those who are not familiar, MyZone is a heart rate tracker that you can use during your works monitor its effort while you’re exercising. Based on the percentage of your maximum heart rate that you use, you can collect points (MyZone Effort Points or MEPs). At the end of each month if you’ve collect the standard 1300 MEPs then you contribute a month towards your next status. If you fall short the you begin to lose status and would have to work your way back. Reaching Hall of Fame means that I made my monthly MEPs every month for 48 months. In my case this includes the pandemic, the shutdown/stay home orders, the birth of my son, jobs changes, a number of unexpected life events including family deaths, and just general challenges around mental health. I’d say through it all, the myzone was a very import tool that helped keep me going throughout the process. We all need different forms of motivation. Some folks need tangible goals like weight loss, some need interpersonal accountability, some need don’t need much of anything to motive them. I would say for me, wanting to give myself a chance at a longer, healthier life for my family is one motivating factor that I carry on this journey. Another one is definitely meeting my monthly goals. Whether I barely met my MEPs or vastly exceeded them, I accomplished what I needed to.
Previously Hall of Fame was the pinnacle status (which is why I am celebrating it), however has added additional statuses to allow our community to stay motivated and moving. I’m looking forward to claiming the statuses and staying active! If you have never used one, I would definitely encourage you to try it out. Certain gyms use them for their workout programs and I think that they are a great investment.
Another preview in the books.
