There will never be another KG. Every time I think of the most ideal superstar to pair with another super star I always come back to Kevin Garnett.

KG's unselfishness, drive, & insistence on putting winning first, second, & third proved to be the perfect star pairing next to the top shelf scoring talents of Paul Pierce.

Garnett would have fit perfect with any star though. Imagine him in Boston with Jayson Tatum? Or in Minnesota with Anthony Edwards? Or if Philadelphia could have paired him next to Allen Iverson?

If not for Celtics bad luck with injuries beginning with KG's knee in 2009, Garnett has some additional rings to wear next to his well earned 2008 Celtics championship bling.

Could Luka Garza breakout even more this coming season for Boston?

Boston has an extreme dearth of available #'s that players like to wear & Jaylen Brown's Celtics career wasn't drastically different from Rajon Rondo in terms of accolades.

Both made the NBA Finals twice & won 1. Brown a 5x All-Star, Rajon 4x. Both All-NBA. Jaylen a Finals MVP, while Rondo 4x All-Defense, 3X NBA Assists + 1x NBA Steals leader.

Brown played 10 yrs in Boston, Rondo 9.

Jaylen a top 2 player on 2024 Championship team, while Rondo the #1 guy on the Celtics from the 2009 playoffs through 2015.

Derrick White is the sixth Celtic to wear #9 since Rondo was traded.

Is Jaylen's #7 a given to be retired?
