Our amazing volunteers (Andy Sacchetti, Mike Spelman & Christopher Maietta, Jr.) not only cheered on our team at the Head of the Charles, but we also want to highlight how they went there to pick up much needed floats for the Wayland Town Beach boat launch which serves as a wonderful amenity for the whole town!

This is a shining example of community collaboration. Wayland-Weston Crew student-athletes pitch in by installing the boat launch floats each spring and pulling them out every fall—a teamwork tradition Crew is incredibly proud to maintain. This effort is made possible alongside the dedicated contributions of the Wayland Recreation Department, the D.P.W., and local Scouts, who all work together to keep the Town Beach thriving for everyone.

Whether you are a kayaker, canoeist, angler, windsurfer, or sunbather, these floats are for the entire community. Because at the end of the day, Crew is all about teamwork!

Head Of The Charles Regatta catches up with Yale Rowing alumna Chris Ernst who led her teammates in the famous 1976 protest to the University's athletic director invoking Title IX and ultimately inducing the institution to provide training conditions commensurate with those accorded to Men's Rowing. Ms. Ernst is the inspiration for the award-winning documentary film, "A Hero for Daisy," background and how to see it provided here, https://www.50eggs.com/films/a-hero-for-daisy/. Ms. Ernst and Yale Women's Rowing spurred adoption of Title IX principles at colleges and schools throughout the U.S., opening up equal athletic opportunities for women across all sports.

How to cox the Head Of The Charles Regatta, navigating its twisting and grueling 3-mile upstream course and threading under its 7 bridges.

The week before I raced my first Head Of The Charles Regatta I hardly slept. I had heard first-hand accounts and read stories online about the harrowing course and was convinced I would smash bow first into a bridge and end my career as a coxswain.

The Super Bowl of Rowing, also known as Rower Christmas, today through Sunday!

More than 12,000 competitors and nearly 375,000 spectators will take part in the annual Head of the Charles Regatta event starting on Friday and running through Sunday.
