Those low tides last weekend ended up falling right around cocktail hour, maybe that’s a factor in why so many boats ran aground last weekend but on Sunday I was amazed to hear again. It wasn’t necessarily that they happened that was surprising but tha they all grounded along our route back giving us a front row seat to the chaos while not being involved. No injuries were sustained and they were all assisted by numerous emergency vessels keeping them in good hands until the tide lifts them off the bottom.

We had some fun this afternoon, there was a pocket of clean water that drifted over the dive site as we got there and the seals were very friendly, more to come soon!!

Someone pulled a gem out of the mud, a torpedo bottle!!
This antique torpedo bottle, made by Cantrell & Cochrane with a unique round bottom design, further impressing with a blueish green color that adds to its charm. The Dublin and Belfast origins of the bottle make it a rare collectible item but the history and origin are unknown.
Come along on a lobster dive with julieta turon visiting on a road trip from Michigan. It’s gonna be Julieta’s first time diving for bugs and we had a friend make a special last minute birthday request for lobster. So let’s go see what we can find…
We backroll off the Keep-ah into the murky waters of the Boston Harbor Islands. The water has warmed up a bit since early summer and is up to about 62°F. The tide is about mid ebb and visibility was not too bad for the harbor at about 10-12ft. We cruised along the rocky, kelp covered slopes and walls of one of our go to beginner dive sites around the Brewster Islands. Although it wasn’t a record breaking day by any means but we ended up with 3 keep-ah’s and not empty handed so the sea gods must have favored us some. If you haven’t gotten in the water yet do it, even if it’s just going for a swim, the water is great.

Thar she blows!! Over the weekend one charter was extra lucky and got a glimpse of what looks like fin whales just off the wreck of the City of Sailsbury in about 80ft/24m water.
state_asylum has a killer urban exploring page and even takes it to the deep, checking out shipwrecks all over the East Coast. Luckily he was out with us to dive the Romance last weekend and got this epic footage of some spouts, fins and even a whale tail at the very end! Makes you realize it may not be as unlikely as you think that you could see a whale on a dive just outside Boston Harbor. The more you dive the more you see!

Lance got the first lobster of the year and today picked out a tank, even though this momma is big, Dean Casali is in the lead for the biggest of the year. And diver John who dives wet all winter has had the best single haul combining quantity and size. It’s been good so far but we’re not done and some of y’all gotta step up!!! Cheehooo 🦞
Boston Harbor Shipyard & Marina is the perfect spot to cool down for the summer, wash down Boston’s best dog Michael with a drink at downeast cider house while you watch the dive guys at Boston Scuba bring in their catch of lobsters and scallops or check out the ICA/Boston Watershed exhibit. what’s could be better than summer weekends in East Boston?!

There are some monsters down there, this was the small one, found another way over sized one twice this size that was released but this beauty is just the right size. This one’s gonna make a sweet lobster mount too!!!
Found this tank hanging out under a little ledge, was well over slot limit so got a photo and sent him back. Check out that half blue tye-dye colouring, this guy has got style!
