Happy New Year! What is your resolution??πŸŽ†πŸŒˆ

I'm not really making a resolution, per se, however I am using the new year to recommit to better living. For each month this year I'm going to commit to doing something or not doing something that will help improve my life. For January I am committing to no sweets! 😳 that means no chocolate, candy, cakes, pies, cookies or dessert. Initially I was a little worried to do this however I'm committed. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ˜ƒHere is my stash of goodies that are being put away!!! 🍫I'll probably end up giving most of it away as I also can't stand throwing things away.

Clean eaters ... I'm calling this tofu scramble and it is soooo good!πŸ˜‚ To make it: sautΓ© some veggies in olive oil and then add cubed tofu. SautΓ© a little Koreans add some cheese if you want. I used roasted carrots, onions, fresh spinach, sun dried tomatoes and two slices of tofu.

I once wondered who should ever buy tofu.now I know... Me!πŸ˜€

This is a super easy idea for anyone interested. It's perfect for a baby. Just pick 4 square patterns and set them up as shown. I actually made this quilt last winter during the snow storms and finally gifted it so I can share pics. I used scraps from other quilts so technically it's a scrap quilt. Happy Baby Sprinkle β˜”οΈ Day !

If you can't afford a nutritionist,there are other options! a friend of mine saw a nutritionist this week as he needs to loose about 20 lbs. She charged the insurance $370 (gasp!) for a 90 minute session and basically told him to eat the same foods that I do. For breakfast: whole wheat toast with almond butter, chia seeds, sliced banana. (Yup, you've seen me post about that!) No white foods: sugar, bread, flour. (Sound familiar?) For sweeteners opt for honey or agave. (Hmmmm....)

Now I'm not knocking nutritionists. They provide wonderful services to people who really need it. However if your trying to loose weight and are looking for an alternative, how about asking someone who is living the lifestyle you want to live (now)? I was able to tell him that I've tried just about every almond butter on the market. Justin's is very good, but expensive. Target brand is soupy. I like the fresh ground at Whole Foods the best. For chia seeds, prices vary widely. I've found Costco and Amazon to have the best prices. Buy the 2 pound bag, for sure. No need to go organic. I've read that the plants they're grown on are never sprayed anyway (that's what I've read anyway!) also, when bananas are starting to get ripe, you can peel them and put them in freezer for your shakes and smoothies. I do this all the time.

If you don't have a beach body coach and would be interested in free advice, I'm happy to share what I know!

Anyone tried this juice? Are there others that you like? I am on a quest to find new, easy ways to consume more veggies. I just went to and read the label on every single juice. Unfortunately none of them were as they all have some kind of fruit juice (which means sugar). There was one I wanted to try but it was $10 so I didn't get it. This was $3.99 and it includes apple, celery, cucumber, kale collard greens, lemon, ginger, spinach. It's good! It tastes very similar to other juices I've tried. The ginger taste is strong. With 21 grams of sugar I'm calling this one green and one purple. (110 calories)

I am slowly working on my home yoga practice. I don't tend to have a lot of confidence in my sirsasana so I thought I'd play around with it tonight. I find videos and pictures to be really helpful because it's hard to really know when your vertical. For me I often feel like I'm vertical but and pretty far off. Anyone else use videos for this?
