I’m not superstitious. But I do follow a pretty standard pre-race routine. It includes things like nails, packing up my gear, making my race day playlist and rolling out. Ease the mind and the body will follow. Or something like that. What do you do?

I suppose I’m getting a little personal here but, yes, my left foot is very wide due to a bunion. As far as running goes, this can be very tricky to manage. But, aside from surgery, which i refuse to do, I have come up with several tried & true methods to work with this situation. I’m sharing for 2 reasons. First, perhaps you are dealing with the same thing and some of this info will be helpful. And second, perhaps you have additional tricks that I have yet to think of. If that is you, please share. Wide feet. It’s a thing. Let’s discuss.

Had a little fun today thinking of the various messages I’d throw on a t-shirt bc these things often happen when I’m out running and they tend to drive me a little nuts. Here are some examples.
Please look both ways.
Please share the road.
Please stop at the crosswalk.
Please put a leash on your dog.
Please don’t walk in lane one.
Please don’t catcall.
Please put your phone down.
Yeah, I’m being a bit of a wise ass. And, no, it’s not that big a deal. But still, I’d wear it. What would you say? Let’s hear it.

I love running. But sometimes, for various reasons, it’s wicked hard. And when I’m not skipping through the streets like a kid in a candy store bc running is AMAZING, I find myself trying to come up with ways to keep it positive. Here’s a few of my best tips. On my recent 8 mile slog I used every single one of them. Whatever works, right? What do you do to keep it positive? Based on my last few days I’m gonna need some more ideas. Also, yes, I am very drained in this video. Also keeping it real.

What can I say? I like to be prepared for all situations. And don’t tell me you don’t get this.

I don’t love water. There, I said it. Yes, I drink it. But probably not as much as I should. Enter the decaf latte. A decent alternative? Yes or no? Let’s discuss.
