Thank you all for participating in the . Photos and other exciting materials are on the way!

Since 1976, the Annual Boston University Conference on Language Development has been held for fifty years. It’s truly ANNUAL, just as the organizers of the first conference intended when they named it. We feel honored to meet many people who presented at — or even organized — our previous conferences this year, and we are equally excited to welcome many first time attendees. Without the contributions and support of our community over the past 50 years, none of this would have been possible.

So, this marks our first 50 years. With all of you, we look forward to the next 50 years.

Congratulations to Nikita Ghodke (New York University), Núria Bosch Masip (University of Cambridge), and Yingyu Su (University of Southern California), our Student Travel Fellowship Awardees at !

The Student Travel Fellowship is meant to assist students who are interested in attending BUCLD by subsidizing their expenses for attending. This year’s award is particularly special — it is fully supported by our community. We can’t be more grateful to you for helping us sustain this tradition!

Meet Teagan Seltzer, a committee member at !

Teagan Seltzer is a first-year Masters student in the Linguistics Department at Boston University. Her research interests are primarily in sociolinguistics, particularly with respect to dialect and gender variation. She is curious about the linguistic realization of gender through morphology and dialect in non-gendered languages, like English and Japanese. We really appreciate her work, which is crucial to this year’s conference!
