The Carpenters Local 290 CREW Committee demonstrates what union solidarity, member engagement, and a shared purpose look like in action! đź’Ş
On Saturday morning, a group of Local 290’s CREW team answered the call from our friend, LICA - Long Island Contractors Association Executive Director & parish Reverent Marc Herbst to assist St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lindenhurst with preparations for a repainting project.
The CREW team didn't hesitate to volunteer their time and skills to install an exterior ramp for lift access and remove (and reinstall) all of the church pews, ensuring the District Council 9 painters had safe and unrestricted access throughout the building.
Rev. Herbst and St. John’s congregation were grateful for the volunteer effort, and we thank the Local 290 CREW for stepping up to give back to our community!

We are a united brotherhood and sisterhood built on solidarity, strength, and shared purpose.
💪🏽
This year, across the NASRCC and the UBC, Locals will be creating CREWs of their own with the goal of building connection and strengthening our union.
💪🏽
Welcome to the Crew - NASRCC
In the Carpenters union, a CREW is more than a team, it is a group of skilled professionals who work together, support each other and share a common goal. We are a united brotherhood and sisterhood built on solidarity, strength, and shared purpose.

Patty Golicki didn’t begin her career in union carpentry. Her journey included work as a secretary, bank teller, factory worker, and lunch cook in a restaurant. As she said, “traditional women’s jobs, but not career-oriented.”
But nineteen years ago, she became a union carpenter, and she recently became an instructor at the Carpenters Local 277 Syracuse training facility run by the North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Fund.

"This issue is bigger than union versus non-union. It is about ensuring that workers are paid fairly, that contractors compete on a level playing field, and that laws designed to protect workers and taxpayers are followed," said Frank Gomez, Carpenters Local 336.
"That is why I believe Bose should be held accountable for the contractors it hires and the labor practices occurring on its projects. Companies should not benefit from business models that rely on cutting corners at the expense of workers and responsible contractors."
Construction Industry Tax Fraud
BOSE speakers sound good. Bose using Timberline Construction sounds really bad! Shame on BOSE!
We believe all carpenters, union and non - union should be paid good wages with benefits. BOSE has hired Timberline Construction to oversee the renovations of the new BOSE corporate Headquarters at 100 Mountain Road. The subcontractors Timberline Construction hires do not pay the carpenters on its projects the wages, retirement benefits and health insurance past generations of carpenters have fought hard to achieve.
Fist bumps to Sam and Anthony, two new apprentices, fighting for their careers and standing with Business Representative RIck Anketell and Frank Gomez.
