Highlights from yesterday’s dreamy hike in Boulder ✨
I AM WOMAN HEAR ME ROAR.
The van has about ten trillion things that can go wrong with it and honestly I don’t know how to fix any of them without .c.0.n ‘s help.
Today though, since I had some time, he’s at work, and the employees at Auto Zone had no earthly idea how to fix a broken tail light, I studied three different YouTube videos, dragged Brandon’s tool bag out, and got to work.
It might seem like an easy thing to do for some people, but this was big for me. Y’all hiring, Auto Zone?

December 17 - December 19
Still stuck in Denver and perfectly happy to be. We’re waiting on a new battery-to-battery charger and accompanying fuse box to be shipped to us before Brandon uses his handyman skills to patch the electrical system back up.
We’ve tentatively decided to stay in Denver for the next month because we’re not going anywhere right now anyways, and we want to keep exploring.
The plan is to get a month-long membership at a local climbing gym, apply for some remote gigs to keep us afloat as we adventure, and keep on keepin on.
If for some reason a huge, beautiful, incredible opportunity (I have no idea what this would be) presents itself in Denver, we might stay longer. But for now, we both feel like another month here is perfect ❤️

⠀
We did a terrible job of taking pics, but snagged a couple.
⠀
The plan was to wake up early and get the wagon’s brakes changed, but were unfortunately turned away because the van was too tall. Instead, I got a morning workout at the gym while Brandon napped.
⠀
Later, I met up with childhood best friend for lunch. She recently moved to Denver and is amongst the gang of people trying to get us to move to here. It was so fun to catch up with someone I’ve been friends with since I was FIVE.
⠀
Meanwhile, Brandon ran 8 miles, which is undoubtedly his longest run in months.
⠀
We finished the day with boring errands (and eating donuts), and fell asleep early with another day ahead ☀️

Mon/Tue- Nov 22nd & 23rd
We arrived back in the Denver area for our van appointment Monday morning. The guys at installed extra leaf springs on the van. We are loaded to the max, so this was a much needed upgrade. We spent the day hanging out with the doggos, & getting a gym session in that night. We took Tuesday as another refuel/replenish/recovery day, & in addition to@getting another gym session in, we got a whole weeks worth of meals prepped & ready. We have learned firsthand just how easy it is to eat like 🗑 while you’re living in a 🚐, so we are taking extra steps to ensure we don’t get too 😜 💥 😱 with our meals.
We are beyond thankful for our friends & Shannon, who let us post up at their house while we prayed for the van to be finished in one day- 🙏🏼 ❤️ 🙏🏼 Thanks to for getting the work done on the Craggin Wagon quickly & professionally. Most of all, though, thank you to everyone single person who we have met, visited, spent time with, climbed with, had dinner with, shared a story over a campfire with…. each one of you is what has made, is making, & will continue to make this trip so special for & myself. So thank YOU.

Joe’s Valley, Part 1
We arrived in Joe’s Valley on Monday afternoon. Our friends .naylor36 take a yearly trip to Joe’s, & since we bailed out last year to go to The Red, we made a point to meet up this year. They weren’t getting into town until late Wednesday night, so we camped at New Joes & climbed on Tuesday. It was both of our first time to Joe’s, & we weren’t disappointed. World class Boulders, free camping, easy access & approaches- all this makes for an amazing time, as anyone who has been already knows… not to mention the scenery & surrounding landscapes are breathtaking.
We took Wednesday as a rest/meal prep/errands/gym day, & waited for our friends to arrive!

Wednesday/Thursday, November 5 & 6
We woke up to a beautiful view of Clear Lake (first two pics) and started making our way further east towards Bishop, CA. Honestly, the day wasn’t very memorable other than sitting behind the wheel and finding our next camping spot at the volcanic tablelands in Bishop.
We spent the following day climbing in Owen’s River Gorge at “Big Tower” and have no big sends to report.
What I can tell you about Bishop and the area surrounding, is that and I fell head over heels in love with it. For me it was the desert landscape bordered by snow-covered mountains and for Brandon it was the climbing that no one could possibly explore within two days.
We’re not sure, but we expect to set up shop here for awhile and see what else we can find 🏔 🧗🏻♂️

Tuesday, November 4
As we made our way into California and further into the Redwoods, we decided we had to make another stop to get closer to some of these beauties. After taking a scenic route through the national forest, we chose a random trailhead and planned on a 1-2 mile run, just to shake the driving cobwebs off.
Once we were a half or so mile in, I knew we needed to spend more time breathing in the air of these giants. It was raining and cold, but I made sure to bring my phone in a Ziplock bag to get some underwhelming pictures (as they never adequately represent what you get to see in real life).
It was hands down Brandon and I’s favorite run we’ve ever been on, which ended up being four miles long. The forest felt alive and I was grateful to be in its presence, especially with my best friend.
We continued heading south, stopped at an Anytime Fitness for a workout and a desperately-needed-shower. We ended up somewhere near Nice, California on some dispersed camping overlooking Clear Lake. This was after we finally found $2 of fresh water to keep some water in our tank. It was the first time we’ve had to pay for water, but you can always expect to pay at least a liiiiiitle bit more for everything in Cali.

Tuesday, November 2
I can’t imagine a better way to start the day than a two mile run on the pacific, cooling off in the ocean afterwards naked (which was brave enough to do; I stayed fully clothed for warmth 😂), and finishing up with a warm breakfast in the van.
On the way down the coast, we started hitting the Redwoods in Oregon and stopped by a little one mile trail for an easy hike. Something feels different about the Redwoods; I know other trees are alive, but these guys and gals are ALIVE and I don’t know how else to put it. Plus, all of Oregon looks like some version of Narnia, so it was a worthwhile jaunt through the woods.
Continuing to head south, we stayed overnight in a casino parking lot after registering with security. We gambled $7 and left with $0.14 before settling in, and decided the machines were rigged.
California up next 🌊
