In 2010, C.E.U. Centro de Escalada Urbana was founded with the effort to provide a safe space for kids from the favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro to learn to climb. Andrew Lenz has propelled this program to new heights and last year he and the CEU community finally built their non-profit climbing gym in the Rocinha Favela.
