Another year in the books .
What a fin-tastic day on the water! Huge applause to all the anglers who cast their lines, told some mostly true fish tales, and made this derby a splashin' success!

From the smallest guppy to the biggest whopper, every catch was a reason to celebrate. Thanks to everyone who helped organize, participate, and cheer each other on—we couldn’t have hooked a better crew.

At Last!! After years of obstacles I'm happy to announce the reopening of the Chippewa Campground at the Kankakee River State Park. We still need campground hosts at this location, so registration will be online. Maybe wait until the 110° heat index subsides! Thank yous to Stacey Johnson site supervisor, IDNR, IDPH, CDB, and anyone else I've bothered over the past couple of years to get us reopened. Get out and enjoy this beautiful park this Fall!!
