I am really excited about this series!
Ashtanga changed EVERYTHING for me when I moved to Thailand in 2008 and met my teacher in Chiang Mai
I think a lot of people either haven’t heard of it or only see it advertised with super athletic bodies in super complicated postures. It’s a thing for sure.
My take on it as I approach 50 is more for its proximity to Iyengar - focus on alignment and breath, the use of props to find the pose correctly from where you are at right now.
Anyone can do Ashtanga
The primary 1 series starts with Sun Salutation A & B and then it’s a sequence of 75 postures (we may not hit every single one in a 75 minute class)
5 breaths in each pose
Why?
Embodiment
Feeling inward
Connect to breath
Move deeply into each posture
Build strength & flexibility
This class starts September 1!

Join us for the Buck Full Moon. Alyce guides the group through a Yoga Nidra (guided meditation) sinking into stillness with a sound bath - both created with themes to support the Buck Moon energy of personal growth and inner strength.

I seem to withdrawing from “sharing” online - as a form of deconstructing all aspects of performativity in my life.
The Strawberry Full Moon has brought me three mostly sleepless nights in a row. I have followed Mystic Mana for celestial insight and she says this Capricorn moon is “trying to balance the inward pull of our Being with the outer pull of our doing... ” and “learning how to balance our inner worlds and our emotional needs with our outer world responsibilities and creative goals...”
I am feeling this so intensely - the desire to cocoon and dream.

This week’s yoga and Pilates classes will be honoring the heat index. We will temper our inner fire with cooling pranayama, mudra, and movement classes to hydrate the fascia and nourish the lymphatic system.
Expect more Yin and a lil less of my usual spice. My body thrives in this heat but for a lot of us, it is draining. Come get some gentle intentional movement with me.
