As we wrap up our posts from BBQ Gives Back KCBS Contest, we wanted to highlight the winners of the MABA Cup Finals! This caps a yearlong endeavor of qualifying in each of our member states and is one of the highlights of the year.

Qualifying for 2026 begins in less than a month when the MABA State Cups travel to Bear-B-Q and !

We went down to Va, to compete in the BBQ Gives Back, it was three days of cooking and an opportunity for us to compete for the Mid Atlantic Barbecue Association MABA cup after winning MDs cup. First off, Mary Jones and crew did a wonderful job putting this together and the Bethpage camp and resort was great.
We had a slow start but finished really strong,
1st place chicken and a 1st place ribs with a "180" and another 700 point day. Both days combined was good enough for us to win the MABA cup in a very tought crowd of teams. Thank you to everyone who supports us, and thank you to my wife and team mate, aka "Sponser" it dose not happen without you baby.

Congratulations to everyone who heard thier names called!!! 👏

Also Thank you MABA for the wonderful trophy, it is actually a belt and I love it, gonna wear it for days 😆

Well we had a great day at the MD State BBQ Bash and a big win for us.

Brisket 1st (180 perfect score) The Butcher Shoppe

Overall Maryland State BBQ Bash Grand Champion with a 701 score!!!

We are also the Mid Atlantic Barbecue Association Maryland State Cup winner 🏆

This is was a huge win for us, and for it be our home State competition makes it even more special. Congratulations to HotMess Barbecue on thier RGC and to everyone eles who heard there names called.

Huge thank you to my beautiful wife who not only puts up with all my crap but also supports me on this crazy bbq thing, putting together the boxes, helping me watch the grills and even cooking the chicken, Thank you baby.
