Day 12 done. Trip complete! Sitting here with my Grandpa Bud after 960 miles and 12 days of riding. Glad to be here!!! Margarita time!!!
Day 11 done. 83 miles. Last day is tomorrow. Hard to believe. Nicole and the kids came and found me out in the middle of nowhere. It was pretty cool. Haven't seen the ocean yet, but I will tomorrow!!!
Day 10 done. 87 miles of rolling hills and lots of scenery. Little warmer than yesterday, but the wind cooperated. Two days left. Kids are at Silver Springs Theme park! Man the glass bottom boats always looked so cool to me and Brian when we were kids. Wish I could have gone.
Day 9 done. 75% finished now! 3 more days, but they are all long days. 87, 83, and then 94 miles. Sunny weather forecasted throughout. Can't wait to get there! I thought I could smell the ocean today, but I'm sure it was my imagination.

Woooo hoooo!!!
Day 8 done. 2/3 of the way to Venice now. Today was 87 miles, but it was easier than the 70 miles yesterday. The temp off the road was only 92 instead of 102. Also the wind was almost behind me all day. No hills!!! Yeah!!! Tomorrow is a quick 67 mile jog from Valdosta to Lake City, FL. Yes, I said it... Florida baby!!! I can't wait to cross the border! Still will have 3 days after I complete tomorrow though.

Day 7 done and man was it hot off the asphalt. My feet and butt really get effected when it's this hot. Got stuck walking down 2 miles of sand roads today. Cool thing was that I ran across a water moccasin on the road and filmed it. It was small, but deadly! Tomorrow is going to kill me if it's this hot again. Going to have to take it easy. 87 miles.
Day 6 done. Officially half way to Venice, FL now. I am also ascended 2/3 of the total ascent. Today was very long and hot especially with the road problem (ran into 9 miles of logging roads, mud and gravel)! I got on the road at 6:30 (as soon as it was light enough to see) and finished at about 3:00 pm. Also I had 3000 ft vertical today. Non stop rolling hills. Nothing steep, but they added up to a higher number than any day do far. I am stunned. Hopefully 1 more day of hills.

Day 5 done. Made it to the south west side of Atlanta (East Point, GA). Yesterday was suppose to have the most ascent, but so far today wins. MapMyRide is pretty far off! I could physically tell today was tuffer. 72 miles in the bright sun (no rain today, yeah!). I have almost made it out of the hills. Tomorrow should be my last hilly day. Followed by long hot days.
Day 4 done. Long day in the rain with lots of hills. This was technically the most difficult day considering ascent and distance. It was raining so hard it was like riding my bike in the shower. Sun came out after 60 miles leaving about 20 miles of sunny riding. 3 more tuff days and then everything gets much easier! Glad to be in Georgia!!!
