THE AMERICAN diet is loaded with ADDED sugar. DO you now how much you need? Do you know how much you consume?
EVERY gram of sugar equals 4 calories. The average american consumes 30+ teaspoons which equals +504 calories. That is 25-34% of the recommended daily caloric intake.
This does NOT include the natural occurring sugars in fruits, dairy, vegetables and grains. If we eat "close to the earth" we consume adequate sugars. Yet food manufacturers keep adding MORE....why? that will be the next post
READ your label BEFORE you eat and CALCULATE how many grams of sugar you are eating. Start by trying to reduce added sugar to 10 teaspoons, or 42.2 grams or 168 calories.
you will be amazed how much better you feel and once off the sugar train it will be ez to further reduce added sugar intake to meet guidelines
