For friends and family who may not be familiar with Muslim funeral traditions, please keep the following in mind:

Please dress modestly and respectfully. Loose-fitting clothing that covers the shoulders and knees is appropriate. No Shorts Please.

Please remain quiet and respectful during prayers and religious observances.

Follow the guidance of the family or those assisting with the service, as customs may vary.

Photography or recording should only be done with the family’s permission.

When offering condolences, a simple “I’m sorry for your loss” is always appropriate.

You may hear the phrase “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” which means, “Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.”

Most importantly, please come with kindness, compassion, and respect as we support Sammy’s loved ones.

One of our own, Michael Bouquet, is now on the road to recovery following his recent major surgery.

Michael has been dealing with the daily challenges and pain of neuropathy, which has greatly impacted his health, quality of life, and ability to work. While we’re thankful that his surgery is behind him, the recovery ahead comes with its own challenges — including medical expenses, post-operative care, rehabilitation, and essential living expenses while he is unable to work.

As the ACES Poker League community, we believe in having each other’s backs, both at the tables and beyond.

♠️❤️ From all of us at ACES — thank you to everyone who came out Sunday to remember and celebrate Sammy AlThayedi.

Having players from both 4 Kings and ACES come together in Sammy’s memory meant more than words can say. Sammy had a way of bringing people together, and Sunday was a beautiful reminder that our poker community is about so much more than cards.

A huge thank you to 4 Kings Poker for putting together the tribute tournament and giving all of us the opportunity to come together, celebrate Sammy’s life, share memories, and show our love and support.

Thank you to Tipsy Sisters for hosting, and thank you to our ACES players for adjusting their Sunday plans so all could be there.

Joshua said it perfectly: “Sammy looking down with a smile.” We truly believe he was.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, shared the laughs, the stories, and the memories. The turnout from both leagues was incredible, and it says so much about the impact Sammy had on the people around him.

♠️ POKER TODAY A Pheasant — 2 PM! ♠️

We ARE playing poker today at Pheasant at 2 PM, but we’ll be running shorter blind levels so everyone has a chance to enjoy some poker and still make it over to Tipsy Sisters for Sammy’s Tribute at 4 PM. ❤️

Today is about more than just poker. It’s about coming together, supporting our poker family, and showing Sammy’s friends and loved ones just how much he meant to all of us.

♠️❤️ ACES FAMILY — TODAY IS ABOUT SAMMY. ❤️♠️

Today, Sunday the 14th, 4 Kings Poker is holding a Tribute Game for Sammy at Tipsy Sisters at 4 PM.

Our ACES Sunday night game is CANCELED at Goldeez so that we can all come together and be there for Sammy.

Sammy was more than just a poker player. He was part of our family. He made us laugh, made us crazy, sometimes made us want to pull our hair out 😂 — but at the end of the day, he was one of ours. And losing him has left a hole in our poker family that can’t be filled.

Today, we have a chance to come together, share stories, laugh, cry, play some poker, and most importantly, show Sammy’s family and friends just how many people loved him.

❤️ Please come if you can. Your presence matters.

And because Sammy was always about poker, we’re adding a little ACES love to the day:

Last night at poker, we found a way to make Sammy feel like he was still right there with us. ❤️

When Walking on Sunshine came on, the whole room started chanting “SAMMY! SAMMY! SAMMY!” And all night long, we kept playing his favorite hand — 10/4… good buddy. ♠️❤️

Sammy had a way of being impossible to forget. He could drive you absolutely crazy one minute and have you laughing the next. But underneath all of that was a guy who was loved by so many people.

Last night wasn't just poker. It was our way of saying, “We miss you, Sammy. We love you. And we’re going to keep your memory alive.”

Every time I hear Walking on Sunshine or see a 10/4, I know I’m going to think of you.

10/4, good buddy. Until we meet again. ❤️♠️
