"This is the 3rd 520 XL I have bought. Very tough and dependable." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

That's from a verified customer review, and it's the kind of endorsement that matters most on a work radio. The Uniden Pro 520 XL keeps it simple: volume, squelch, channel, PA, RF gain and a noise filter, in a compact chassis that holds up to dust, drops and a winter parked outside.

Nobody buys a third of something that let them down.

Tired of listening to everyone within five miles? 📻

The President Harrison was the first FCC-approved AM/FM mobile CB in the US with CTCSS/DCS tone codes. Set your crew to the same code and your speaker stays quiet until someone on your code keys up.

It also has a rotary channel k**b, auto SWR and auto squelch, and runs on 12 or 24 volts, so it fits pickups and heavy equipment alike. Survey teams and guide services tend to buy these in pairs.

Got an older President Bill? The Digi Mic Deluxe still works with it. 🎙️

It's a 6-pin noise-canceling mic, so it plugs into President 6-pin radios and plenty of other 6-pin CBs too.

Daylight saving ends November 1. A lot more of your driving is about to happen in the dark. 🌙

The Cobra 29 NW is the same tactile 29 that's been in trucks for decades, set up for night drivers with controls built to read and work in the dark. It also adds NOAA weather channels, so live weather alerts come right through your CB. That matters more in November than it did in July.

$159.95 for weather and a radio built for night driving: https://www.rightchannelradios.com/products/cobra-29-ltd-classic-w-nw-cb-radio

Lighter plug or hardwire for your Cobra 29? 🔌

Hardwire it to the fuse panel or battery for cleaner power and less noise. The power cord is already fused, so you're covered.

The CB band is split three ways right now: truckers on AM, a growing crowd on FM, and the long-distance crowd on sideband. 📡

The President George does all three. On SSB it transmits at 12 watts instead of the usual 4, so you reach farther on sideband.

For long-haul, ranch work and base stations, it's the one radio that keeps you in every conversation on the band.

Installing a CB antenna ball mount? Don't grab the wrong coax. 🔧

Ball mounts take ring-and-terminal coax: ring to the center stud, spade to a mounting bolt or bare metal for ground.

Most handheld CBs still eat nine AA batteries. This one doesn't. 🔋

The President Randy III runs a rechargeable lithium-ion pack and ships with both AC and DC chargers. That one decision is most of why it outsells every other handheld we carry.

It's IP67 waterproof, and the adapter for an external antenna is in the box. Carry it on foot, then hook it to the mobile antenna on your truck and it performs like a full mobile CB.

It's the only handheld we actively recommend: https://www.rightchannelradios.com/products/president-randy-iii-am-fm-fcc

Rubber boot on your magnet CB antenna: leave it or pull it? 🧲

Leave it on. That coating keeps the magnet from scratching your paint, and you'll still get a solid ground connection.

If your budget is $200, don't put $180 into the radio. Flip it. 📻

Here's the system we'd tell a friend to buy:
• Uniden Pro 510 XL ($79.99)
• 4' Firestik FS antenna ($33.95)
• Heavy-duty spring ($19.95)
• Quality RG8X coax ($24.95)
• SWR meter with jumper cable ($34.95)

Just under $200, all in. Mounted and tuned, it will out-talk a $280 radio on a cheap magnet mount, because every CB transmits at the same 4 watts. Range lives in the antenna, its height and its tune.

Start with the Firestik FS: https://www.rightchannelradios.com/products/firestik-fs-cb-antenna
Or get it all pre-matched in a kit: https://www.rightchannelradios.com/collections/cb-radio-kits
