Fletcher Cox Completes Pro Boost Debut at PDRA North vs. South Shootout

After weather washed out the PDRA Mid-Atlantic Showdown, Fletcher Cox finally made his long-awaited Pro Boost debut driving “Fixed Income” at the PDRA North vs. South Shootout at Maryland International Raceway. The weekend proved Cox belongs in one of the PDRA’s toughest categories.

Cox qualified No. 5 with a strong 3.640-second pass, setting up a first-round matchup with Frank Falter in the first Pro Boost elimination round of his career.

On race day, Cox was sharp on the starting line, posting an impressive .012 reaction time to Falter’s .032. From there, he never looked back, driving to a wire-to-wire victory with a career-best 3.627-second pass at more than 207 mph.

His weekend came to an unfortunate end in the second round when a parts failure struck before the tree activated, causing the car to roll through the staging beams and ending his day.

On the Pro Street side, Andy Mac qualified fifth with a 3.994-second effort, earning a first-round matchup against Chris Tuten.

Mac left the line first with a .049 reaction time compared to Tuten’s .092, but his Camaro drifted toward the centerline. He fought to regain control as long as possible before ultimately crossing the centerline and taking out several timing cones, handing the victory to Tuten.

Cox Racing will now turn its attention to the PDRA Thunder Valley Throwdown at Bristol Dragway, scheduled for August 6–8.
