We often focus so much on strength, flexibility, tricks, shapes, and aesthetics… But one of the most important movement skills is something many people rarely talk about: Proprioception. Your body’s ability to sense itself in space. It affects balance, coordination, control, timing, reactions, learning speed, and even injury prevention — especially in unexpected moments like losing balance or falling. Over time, I’ve realised that good movement is not just about what movement looks like externally. It’s also about how deeply connected you are internally. Sometimes, a mover becomes so focused on executing the skill that they stop truly feeling the movement or noticing what’s happening around them. The perspective narrows into tunnel vision — and that can become dangerous. The strongest movers are not always the ones doing the fanciest things. They’re often the ones who can sense subtle shifts, adapt quickly, and move with awareness. Movement changes completely when you stop only trying to “perform” it… and start learning how to truly experience it. #Proprioception #movement 05/19/2026
