Spencer Hyde is a life-long Drag Racer starting in Jr.

Dragster and moving through the Top Dragster, Top Sportsman, and Outlaw 10.5 ranks before moving to Pro Mod in 2017 and eventually getting his Top Fuel license in February of 2023. The Canadian Pro Mod phenomenon, who left a lasting impression on the drag racing community with his thrilling victory at the 2023 Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod, then made his NHRA Top Fuel debut at the season-ending In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at the iconic Pomona Drag Strip.

All in all, not too disappointed. We didn’t qualify here last year, so to get in the show and win a round is not the ultimate goal, but it’s an improvement on last year. We’ll leave here in the top 10 in points, go to Phoenix, and try to keep picking away at it!

Today was a bit of a stressful day going into Q4 on the outside looking in. Knowing we had to try and slide it down and get in on the worst track conditions we’d seen all weekend. Jim and the boys looked at the notes and put something in it we thought would go 4.0s. We put a hole out about 400 feet and legged it to a 4.10 that got us in the show. Not where we want to be, but if you’re in, you’ve got a chance. Qualified 14th.

Shook the tires first round today, and it cost us the round win. I’ve had an absolute blast behind the wheel of this car the past 2 races. Looking forward to hitting the gas next week in the Funny Car to start the NHRA season!
