The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) just released its first major update to strength training guidelines in 17 years.
After reviewing research involving more than 30,000 people, the message was surprisingly simple:
💪 Strength train at least 2 times per week
💪 Train all major muscle groups
💪 Consistency matters more than having the "perfect" workout
💪 Dumbbells, bands, machines, and bodyweight exercises all work
💪 Strength training improves much more than muscle—it helps support balance, walking, power, and independence
At Age Strong, this is exactly what we believe.
You don't need an elite athlete's workout program. You need a consistent strength training habit that helps you keep doing the things you love.

This weekend one of my group classes got together and made these beautiful lawn ornaments— and I was lucky enough to get one too. ❤️
I’m so grateful for this community. 💙💪

People come to Age Strong to get stronger…
But many stay because of the people.
Over the past few months I’ve heard:
“I can breathe better.”
“My knees don’t hurt anymore.”
“I caught myself and didn’t fall.”
“I notice how much better I feel when I come to class.”
But maybe my favorite thing I hear is:
“I didn’t realize how much I’d enjoy this community.”
Yes, we work on strength, balance, and staying active.
But the encouragement, friendships, and laughter might be the best part.
We currently have a few spots available if you’re 55+ and want to stay strong and keep doing the things you love.
First class is free 💪

Still smiling about this… 💛
While I’m away, these two amazing women—Chris and Judy—showed up to the 2026 Best of SRQ reception for Age Strong.
They’ve been with me since the very beginning, and watching how far they’ve come has been incredible. Stronger, more confident, and just all around badass.
To see them there, representing Age Strong, meant so much more than just the award itself.
This is what it’s all about. Not just rehab… not just fitness… but building something bigger together.
So grateful for you both. ❤️
