Eva from the STL (via Vietnam) brought the family down to Branson to try fishing for the first time. None of them had ever gone fishing before with conventional rods and reels! Maybe dad?…w grandpa when he was a kid?…he wasn’t sure though lol.

What a great family who had just the best time out there. GREAT students and just fun to be around. My wife’s kinda from their neighborhood so we had some things in common too.

🐟🐟🐟 funny story…so they all primarily spoke Mandarin Chinese with Eva translating most of their questions to me in English. And while I don’t speak mandarin I DO speak Dad pretty well…in fact… I recently figured out that I will have had a kid in jr high school from the 90’s to eventually um, the 30’s!?🙄😆…i digress…

So a couple times I saw dad talking to the kids about how they’re fishing. I knew what he was wanting them to do so I showed them what he was trying to explain. After a couple of those Eva was like…”Wow you speak mandarin too?”…I was like..no, im just a dad lol.

Really fun folks to hang with! They want to try fly fishing next time and I know they’ll all do great at that too. You can just tell sometimes:)

…and the catching lately has been pretty good?🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟. Cause when we release our fish I’ll pull up my left sleeve…grab them w my left hand…remove the hook w the right…back they go. Though I may have left it up for a few fish one day? 😆🐟

7/6/26🐟 - It’s been a hot minute kids I know. I’ve been out there every day while trying to help mamma a little with our Lily. And I do mean ‘a little’ cause my MJ is a rock star beyond anything I could have hoped for!🥰💙💕

There have been some ups and downs the last month or so but mostly ups. The last 3 days or so have been great! Big fish and LOTS of fish! A group of 6 yesterday morning with the water off caught IDK how many fish? We went into the bait area the last half an hour to catch a few for dinner and I ended up cleaning 17! We did find a hot little spot in the bait area I gotta say but we were on them pretty good in the Trophy Area too. Fun time!
