Day 2 of 3…yesterday Richard got the Lilleys Trophy award with 3 fish over 20”….Larry just wanted 1? lol…he JUST got that done with this 24” male rainbow on a #22 ginger/olive G-Bug!

Busy busy….I sincerely appreciate everyone!!! This was Sunday w Seth and Bella…(brand new fly folks) with a 20”ish brown on the #20 ginger G-Bug. The OG of ALL my original fly ideas and is often…still, my #1 BIG FISH fly!

We caught a TON of fish yesterday…6 hours wading group 1…4 hours in the boat group 2 lol. Everyone stopped counting early on. Allen here w a nice fish pushing 22”.

🐟🐟🐟 I unfortunately had a customer cancellation for 3 days in a row. Now available is this Wednesday, Thursday Friday! October days are a premium in my world so if you’re interested in catching a BUNCH of BIG FISH!!!…lmk..soon lol.

9/22&24🐟 Todd was a brand new fly guy looking to learn the game…then do a lot of fishing!!!

Day 1 in the boat was very solid w a LOT of fish in the net…one nice trophy but most were smaller. My #1 (water off or very mild) boat fly all year long has been the cherise Micro Mega. 1/120th or 1/80th w a gold hook and head. The latter if there’s a little flow. Sometimes the olive/brown or the orange/olive Baitfish jig will take over in the afternoon if it gets sunny out. A little ’bounce rig’ w/a couple of the wade flies can be really good too. Especially early when it’s flat water and in the shallow stuff.

He hooked up with Jordan Isaacs between our trips and landed a trophy with him as well. Like I said…he was doing some fishing this week!

On Thursday we went wading below the dam and had another spectacular day there. Just a lot of really active fish up there and getting better every day. I’m catching more browns on W2-Eggs than I usually do? I always tell people brown trout aren’t big on taking egg patterns over a scud but when they come up early and hungry and before they start spawning hard they’ll hang below the spawning rainbows taking eggs. They’ll take everything better earlier actually…even eggs sometimes. Here’s a few pics from our time out there. 3-4 fish over 20” and always we played w a few thumpers that got the best of us.

*** I’ve seen a few fish w the fungus we sometimes see out there. Not too many and hopefully it doesn’t get bad. I may have caught a fish or two with it wading this year. Interesting I don’t catch any downstream when I’m in the boat? We catch more stockers down that way and probably more in total numbers and they seem fine?

New fly fishermen Alphonso yesterday morning. Fishpond net said he was in the 25”
range. I think he caught 5 fish over 20” and his buddy Lamar caught a couple too…more to come 🐟🐟🐟
