Sierra Dailey and Lady Pirates beat Joplin 10-5 Thursday to improve their record to 5-4. Dailey and fellow junior Ally Dicken both had three hits. Dailey and Dicken both have 17 hits on the season and are hitting .515.

Lady Pirates can be very proud of sophomore Justice Yacko!
She hit her first career high school home run in Branson's 13-2 Class 4 District 6 loss to Neosho on Tuesday.
Yacko rates as the Lady Pirates' most improved player. A backup at the beginning of the season, she finished with a .305 batting average that included six doubles among her 18 hits.

Lady Pirates (9-18) will be minus second baseman Langley Miller and catcher Annika Arjes (quarantine) tonight, as they take on Neosho (14-7) at 6 in a Class 4 District 6 first-round game at Monett.
Look for Justice Yacko to move to second base and Maddie Good to go behind the plate in place of Miller and Arjes. Molly Smith and Tatum Worth will likely start at first and left field.
This is one of the best Districts in Class 4, with Webb City, McDonald County and Neosho all ranked in the top 10 in the state.
Neosho boasts possibly the best leadoff hitter in the COC in junior center fielder Kaitlyn Killion.
Lady Pirates are looking for their first District win since 2017.

Class 4 District 6 at Monett seedings will be determined tonight. The District features three of the top 10 ranked teams in Class 4 with No. 1 Webb City, No. 2 McDonald County and No. 10 Neosho.
Top five seeds figure to be No. 1 Webb City (22-3), No. 2 McDonald County (18-3), No. 3 Neosho (14-6), No. 4 Monett (11-12) and No. 5 Glendale (13-12).
Monett has won seven of its last 10 and Glendale has lost seven of its last eight
Branson (9-16) probably will get No. 6 seed based on 1-0 win over Carl Junction (6-15). But CJ is fresh from upsetting Republic 11-1 this week.
Parkview (1-14) a lock at No. 8 seed.

Lady Pirates fall to Willard 15-1 Tuesday. With Carl Junction knocking off Republic on Monday, Branson and CJ tie for ninth place in COC.
Number of Willard hits against Branson off of changeups — 0.
