Well this year at The 24 Hours of Lemons at road Atlanta was one for the books. Car was strongest it has been and we were strongly in second. Unfortunately there was a lot of rookies, and what was a busy session led to a racing incident taking the car out.
We got the car limping tonight, but with the rain and the car not being 100% we are planning to hang it up for the race this year. On to next year!

What a weekend. After 5 years we finally had a race with no major mechanical failures and our best result to date!. All of our hard work finding fixes to weak points and wrenching paid off!
It was WET...for every lap, and tested our drivers skills. While we didn't have mechanic issues (we don't count a flat from a nail ;) ) we had two major contacts that resulted in a broken rim, bearing, and tire damage. Even with being out for around 45 we still achieved our best result yet:
3rd in B class (podium)
9th overall out of 130 drivers
Thanks for all those that wrench and support us. A special thanks to Michael Aversano for being our lead pit crew.
The red rental focus also got top 20, an amazing achievement for a group for some new to endurance and new to FWD.

Talk about a wet day! We had what we thought was an engine issue that turned out to be 1 hour of driving on a flat tire! Even with that fox, sitting 9th out of 110 after day 1...Best performance to date. Tomorrow will be a monsoon, but here is to turning laps and taking names!!!!

Another year another The 24 Hours of Lemons for DayZ of blunder! A lot of prep this year addressing weaknesses we have been fighting, new motor, new rear "custom" spindles, and countless other tweaks. While it looks like rain will be a concern we are excited to return and shake the car down!

Overall, was a fun weekend but the typical endurance challenges! The team came together, had a blast, and made the best result we could.
TL;DR we achieved 4th in class and 13th overall.
Saturday the car was a bit off on power but manageable, had wheel bearing failure that led to a quick 30 min fix. A sudden monsoon caused some fun and spin leading to some flags. In review, we were in a decent position. Saturday night replaced all brakes and many fueling components.
Day 2 the car was back to its old self and flying! We set a 1:56.1! although that led to a miscalculation in fuel use, where we had to do a quick "splash and go" to finish the morning stint. We also learned the falkens delaminate either due to camber or the excessive right turns at CMP.
After lunch, the car became a dog. :( Power was sluggish at best and led to pace dropping 6-10 seconds. The drivers still turned solid laps with no other issues and salvaged a 4th in class and a 13th overall.
See you at the next race!

Quick bearing hub change. I guess Ray Brake drives right turns more aggressively than the rest of us!

Today was a fun one, unfortunately lots of rain expected tomorrow.
Hub failure led to a 30 min paddock stop and one black flag. But still sitting 26 over all and 11 in class.

Practice day is in the books! Unfortunately we blew an alternator, so putting on our parts car spare before the 24 hour race tomorrow... Racing at night has been a very interesting adjustment for many of the team! Looking forward to the fun tomorrow.
