The Orthelligent Sensor is based in preseason testing of the mens national league team, the Berlin Hockey Club! Screening for risk factors such as knee adduction, or knee valgus, helps inform the athlete and coach how and what modifications need to be made in training.

🏹Assessment🏹

Orthelligent breaks it's testing down into three categories - Range of Motion, Coordination and Strength/Speed.

🤸🏽‍♂️Range of Motion is focused on how far a particular joint can move. In sport and activity, an imbalance in range of motion can lead to overcompensation of one joint and body misalignment. Orthelligent identifies and informs the individual of these discrepancies to help prevent an injury from occurring!

🏃🏽Coordination is the ability to engage the right muscle at the right time with proper intensity to achieve the intended action. These movements are characterized by appropriate application of speed, distance, direction, timing and muscular tension. An inability in this action can result in injury!

🤾🏽‍♂️Strength/Speed - Together, strength and speed are considered the essential elements of power. Power is a key determinant in the performance of many sports, therefore optimizing an athlete's power production is of great importance.

By breaking down the tests into these three categories, the professional and individual alike can better assess and understand where the imbalances or weakness are to help return to sport as quickly and safely as possible!

🦵🏽⚡️SPEEDY JUMP⚡️🦵🏽

This test is utilized to gauge an individuals agility, balance, coordination, and speed. Challenging the stability of the knee and ankle, the athlete must complete the Speedy Jump Course as quickly and successfully as possible. This is typically performed when an athlete has been cleared or is testing for clearance to return to sport! How fast can YOU complete the test?? ⏱

A few days ago was at our Sportpark Rote Teufel and presented their screening mat and 3D sensor. From now on we can screen our athletes for rehabilitation and prevention. Mobility, coordination and strength/speed are tested. The included tests are validated and used in many studies as return-to-sport tests. In addition, we can compare the performance of our athletes between the right and left leg. Thus, any differences become visable and we can work on them specifically 💯.
Oped directly displays all results in a protocol and calculated the Limb Symmetry Index (FIT Index). In addition, there are videos with exercise suggestions that we can select and send to the footballers so that they can work specifically on their weaknesses.

We are looking forward to working with the screening mat and 3D sensor from now on and are excited about the results of our athletes ⚽️💥

👟SIDE HOP👟

During the Side Hop Test, we are assessing stability, balance, strength and power while under fatigue! Athletes have the ability to choose the width of the jumping distance - 1cm, 10cm, 20cm, 30cm and 40cm.

The test should be doable, but challenging! How many hops can YOU perform in 30 seconds??
