Track snaps.

I was at Road America several weeks ago for the 2025 FRP Road America June Speedtour. The plan was to run the entire weekend in the F1600 class as part of the 2025 points championship, with a new engine after a radiator puncture at Road Atlanta took me out of the running for Mid-Ohio. We found good friends waiting for us in Wisconsin and took it easy Wednesday evening in preparation for Thursday practices.

The car was running great Thursday morning and I was fastest in my class before things went bad in the third session. A spin in the Kink at 130 MPH from the car two spots ahead nearly flipped me and the car ahead into the catch fence. My F1600 came to a stop in the middle of the track with a number of cars further back in the field nearly running into me as well. I was lucky to come out with barely a scratch but the car had 3 destroyed corners and a frame split that ended my race weekend before it actually started.

Friday evening, a team that had seen me race earlier in the year made me an amazing offer to drive an F1000 for them for the rest of the weekend. I went directly into qualifying Saturday and qualified 8th in my class in a car I'd never driven, at a track I was driving at for the first time. I ended the weekend after Sunday's final race 4th in my class with the points lead and 1st in F1000s.

This was an incredible experience and a lot of fun. @roadamerica is an awesome complex. I want to thank @yieldtobob
and my dad @ryan.mccurdy.542 for all the work to have the F1600 ready, @arrivedrivemotorsports for trusting me with their F1000, and all my sponsors and supporters who helped get me there and have the equipment to race @revupenergy @425motorsports @stilo_official @stilo_usa @getpryde @dirtfishrally @diecutstickersdotcom @engelvoelkerskirkland @jcpt928. #BecauseRacecar #frp #romanmccurdyracing 09/19/2025
