💚 We really don’t have the words, but THANK YOU.

Yesterday, hundreds of people came together to celebrate Adam “Phish” Holzer, and then filled Casey’s afterward with hugs, stories, laughter, tears, music and so much love.

People came from near and far, even Illinois and New Jersey. Family, lifelong friends, old coworkers, bar regulars, and people we hadn’t seen in years. It was overwhelming to see just how many lives Phish touched.

To everyone who helped plan, brought or made food, played music, worked, cleaned, shared a story, gave a hug, or simply showed up, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. And yes, thank you to the dude who gave a certain bartender a mushroom sweatshirt. 🍄😂

We are grateful, humbled and completely blown away by the love shown for Phish and his family.

Thank you for showing up for our Phish. 💚🍻

Good people leave the best stories.

And Phish left us a s**tload of them.

💚 For our Phish.

This Saturday, September 12th, everyone whose life crossed paths with Adam “Phish” Holzer is invited to come together, share some stories, and celebrate one hell of a guy.

We’ll gather from 2:00–5:00 PM at Wells Memorial Park in Breckenridge to visit, reminisce, share memories, and spend time together. A meal and gathering will follow at Casey’s Bar.

If you knew Phish, worked with him, drank with him, laughed with him, argued with him, or just have a good Phish story, please come share it.

You didn’t have to be family to be family to Phish. 💚

Everyone is welcome to both. Come as you are. Come with a story. 🍻

There are some people you meet along the way who somehow become part of the place itself.

Adam “Phish” Holzer was one of those people at Casey’s.

Phish wasn’t just a former bartender or employee. He was family. He was a coworker, a teammate, a drinking buddy, a pain in the ass, a brother to more people than he was actually related to, and one hell of a friend.

And if you knew Phish, you know he probably wouldn’t want us getting too damn sappy about him.

He was an old soul with a hippie heart who loved great music, cold beer, grilling, softball, pool, golf, and most of all, being around his people. He could give you s**t and make you feel loved practically in the same sentence.

That was Phish.

He had a way of bringing people together without ever making a big production out of it. His family was huge, and somehow it stretched far beyond blood. He collected friends who became brothers, coworkers who became family, and enough stories that we’re probably going to be telling them over beers for the rest of our lives.

Casey’s was lucky enough to have Phish behind the bar for a lot of years, but even luckier to have him as part of our family.

There are people who leave a job and eventually become somebody you “used to work with.”

Phish was never going to be that.

He was ours.

Your bartender. Your friend. Your brother. Your work husband. Your long-haired, beer-drinking, music-loving pain in the ass.

And we loved him exactly that way.

Forty years wasn’t nearly enough.

So crank up the good music. Tell the old stories. Laugh at the inappropriate ones. Have your people over. Fire up the grill. Raise a Heineken, Budweiser, Hamm’s, or whatever Phish would give you s**t for drinking.

And raise one for Adam.

Casey’s Bar won’t ever remember you as an ex-employee, Phish.

You’ll always be family.

Rest easy, buddy. 🍺💚
We’ll keep your stool in the stories.
