Passed over for a promotion you thought you had earned?

It happens to talented women more often than you would think. You hit every goal, deliver strong results, and still watch someone else get the title. The frustrating truth is that performance alone rarely decides who advances. Positioning does. Leadership promotes the people whose impact they can clearly see and easily explain to others.

As a promotion coach for women, Shannon Fox helps clients close that gap. Her 5% Promotion Method focuses on making your value legible to decision-makers through three shifts:

• Value Visibility, so your contributions get noticed
• Energy Authority, so you advance without burning out
• Leadership Leverage, so your impact compels action

Whether you are in Los Angeles, Chicago, or working remotely anywhere in North America, the strategy is the same. Stop waiting to be discovered and start communicating your worth in the language leadership rewards.

If you have been passed over for promotion and want a clear plan forward, call now to speak with Shannon about your next move.

You are doing great work. So why does nobody seem to notice?

For many high-performing women in Los Angeles, the answer is not effort. It is visibility. Your results speak a language your leadership team has not been taught to hear. When your contributions stay invisible, promotions and raises go to whoever tells the clearest story, not whoever works the hardest.

As a career coach for women, Shannon Fox helps clients get recognized at work by translating what they already do into a leadership narrative decision-makers understand and reward. Her approach is simple but powerful:

✔ Clarify the strategic value of your everyday wins
✔ Communicate impact in measurable terms
✔ Advocate for yourself without burning out

You do not need to become someone else to advance. You need to become legible to the people making decisions about your future.

Ready to be seen for the leader you already are? Schedule a Promotion Strategy Review with Shannon and map out your fastest path forward.

If your annual review is the first time you mention promotion, you're starting the conversation too late.

A performance review asks: "How have I performed?"

A promotion conversation asks: "Where am I going next, and what does leadership need to see from me to get there?"

Those are not the same conversation.

Your next move:
In your next 1:1, try: "I'd like to be intentional about positioning myself for the next level. What would you need to see from me over the next 3 to 6 months to confidently advocate for that?"

Now you have information.

And information gives you something much more useful than hoping.

It gives you a strategy.

Your next level of leadership should not cost you your energy.

Many high-performing women in Nashville and beyond hit a wall not because they lack skill, but because they are over-functioning. Saying yes to everything, carrying invisible work, and absorbing extra responsibilities might make you reliable, but it rarely makes you promotable. Leadership is watching for strategic thinkers, not the busiest person in the room.

As a leadership coach for women, Shannon Fox teaches a concept she calls Energy Authority. It is about setting healthy boundaries so your best work stays visible instead of buried under exhaustion. When you stop doing everything, you can start positioning the work that actually moves your career forward. Her clients learn how to manage burnout, protect their time, and communicate impact in the language decision-makers reward.

Think of it this way: growth in your career works a lot like growth in nature. It needs space, sunlight, and the right conditions, not constant grinding.

If you are an ambitious woman in New York City, Miami, or anywhere across North America feeling successful on paper but stuck in practice, a Promotion Strategy Review can help you map your fastest path forward. Book your 30-minute session with Shannon and start leading with strategy, not strain.

You have earned the raise. Now you need the conversation to prove it.

Most high-performing women walk into salary talks armed with effort, loyalty, and long hours. Decision-makers are listening for something different: measurable impact tied to business outcomes. That gap is why so many talented women stay underpaid while doing exceptional work. Learning how to ask for a raise starts weeks before the meeting, with a documented case for your value.

This fall, before year-end reviews and budget planning kick in, take stock of what you have actually delivered. As a salary negotiation coach for women, Shannon Fox helps clients in Denver and across the country translate everyday wins into numbers leadership cannot ignore. Her free 90-Day Raise Strategy walks you through setting a clear compensation goal, documenting your results, and building an action plan that fits your company's priorities, all without working longer hours.

Think of it like swapping your summer routine for a fresh season. Same you, sharper strategy.

Start your raise plan today by downloading the free 90-Day Raise Strategy and walk into your next conversation with confidence.

Passed over for promotion again? It is rarely a performance problem.

Most high-performing women who get overlooked are doing exceptional work. What they are missing is a leadership narrative. Decision-makers promote people whose impact they can clearly see and repeat in rooms you are not in. That is why working harder or taking on more rarely changes the outcome. It just leads to burnout while someone less qualified gets the title.

As a promotion coach for women, Shannon Fox helps clients translate the results they are already producing into the language leadership rewards. Through her 5% Promotion Method, women in Chicago and across the country learn how to position their value, communicate measurable impact, and protect their energy while they advance. Many clients secure an average 5% raise within six months, not by overhauling who they are, but by becoming legible to the people making promotion decisions.

If your results are strong but your title and pay have not caught up, it may be time for a different strategy. Schedule a Promotion Strategy Review with Shannon and map out the fastest path to your next promotion.

Let me tell you something.

The obvious choice for promotion usually isn’t created in one big moment.

She becomes the obvious choice through repeated experiences.
✨ The way she handles pressure
✨ The questions she asks
✨ The clarity she creates
✨ The ownership she takes
✨ The trust she builds

One moment may get attention.
Consistency builds a leadership reputation.

Choose three words you want people to associate with your leadership.

Then ask yourself before your next meeting:
How can I help people experience those qualities today?

Because becoming impossible to overlook begins long before an opportunity appears.

Let me challenge the way we think about meetings.

I think a lot of high-performing women walk into a meeting with one goal:
"I need to speak up more."

But what if that's the wrong goal?

What if your goal was to become one of the most valuable voices in the room?

There's a difference.

Being helpful often focuses on doing.
Being valuable focuses on thinking.

That doesn't mean helping isn't important.

It absolutely is.

But leadership opportunities are often given to the people whose thinking consistently helps the team make better decisions.

The person who asks the question no one else considered.
The person who connects ideas.
The person who spots a risk before it becomes a problem.
The person who helps move the conversation forward.

That's influence.

And influence is far more powerful than airtime.

So before your next meeting, don't ask yourself,
"How can I talk more?"

Ask yourself, "How can I make this conversation better?"

Because your goal isn't more words.

It's more intentional contribution.

That's what people remember.

And that's what leadership notices.

Knowing what to do is not always enough.

Sometimes the real question is:
What story is keeping you from doing it?

In this episode, I talk with executive coach Janylene Turcotte about the hidden beliefs that keep high-performing women stuck.

Stories like:
“I’m not good enough.”
“That opportunity isn’t available to me.”
“I’m too different.”

But here’s the good news:
Stories can change.

And when they do, your actions start changing too.
