Over the last 15+ years I have used my skills volunteering thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars designing, modifying, and fabricating adaptive items for individuals with severe disabilities. Anything from simple toys for kids to very labor-intensive adaptive joystick-controlled drive-by-wire 4x4 recreational vehicles. Although, the satisfaction of helping individuals accomplish things otherwise not achievable is fun and rewarding, it is also very overwhelming. I am officially taking a break for a few years to work on personal projects and to enjoy the weekends doing my own thing.

The Design Ability Inc. – 501c3 Nonprofit will still be active and available for donations for future projects.

100% of all donations go towards parts and materials for adaptive projects.

The Micro Van Adaptive Switch Panel is just an example of the custom wiring that is needed to create the Adaptive Joystick Controlled Recreational Vehicles at Design Ability.

Design Ability Inc is currently modifying a ZEV Micro Van to be a 100% drive by wire Joystick Controlled vehicle. The joystick control system will have 100% control of the Steering, Throttle and Brakes. This will be the first drive by wire wheelchair accessible Low Speed Vehicle in the USA based on our recent research.
