Welcome to the Elevate Faculty Jonni!

Hello dancers! My name is Jonni Rogers and I have been dancing for 24 years and it will always be my true passion in my life. I have trained in all styles of dance, from Jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, ballroom, and Pom. I danced competitively for 12 years where I won multiple scholarships and judges awards. Since my competition days, I have choreographed for numerous competitive, Pom, college, and professional dance teams in the last 15 years. In 2008 I began my rookie season with the Oakland Raiders as an Oakland Raiderette. My accomplishments with the Raiders between the years 2008-2013 include Rookie of the year and two captain positions. I took a brief hiatus and am now back in my 6th season, where I also am Co-captain of my line. In 2010 I auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance and made it to the Vegas round as well as the top 75 dancers in America. Along with dancing and performing on own, I also Co-direct a competitive dance team and have been doing so for the last ten years. Lastly, I am in my third season as the head coach for the UC Berkeley dance team, Cal dance team. I am looking forward to teaching you all some fun and sassy jazz numbers! Remember to always give your all and let your personality shine through!

We are so excited to have Johnette Rutledge teaching Jazz on Saturday!
Johnette is a Native of Minneapolis MN, where she grew up as a third generation dancer at her family's former studio, Summit Dance Shoppe. She has performed in many genres of dance, on multiple stages, through her career! Johnette has a passion for teaching many disciplines of dance, and has received multiple awards on the regional, and national level for her choreography. These days, on the weekends, you can find Johnette judging a competition, or setting choreography on dancers around the country! She also enjoys running her own small recreational studio, New Foundation! Johnette was the recipient of the silver Leo's award for choreography excellence at the Jazz Dance World Congress, and was most recently featured in Dance Teacher Magazine on teaching after childbirth.

We are so excited is coming back to Elevate this year!
