The 8U Softball girls had a blast tonight! The Pirate Parrot and 2 Pierogies came to pitch and base coach the first inning of their game on Morgan E Field. Thank you to the Schoenbergers for arranging the event and to our amazing coaches for making it all happen!

Thank you, Coaches.

On this National Coaches Day: Here's to the coaches who get it.

The ones who know that they're coaching more than just athletes.

They're coaching the next generation of humans who will go out into the world one day and be more than their sports talent.

They will go on to be leaders.
And employees.
And community members.
And parents.
And neighbors.

And when they do?

The number of trophies they've collected will matter less.
The stat lines will become history.
The win-loss record will be hard to recollect.

But what will remain?

Their ability to overcome adversity.
The way they treat people.
The prioritization of their mental health over everything.
The lessons learned about time management.
Their integrity.

So here's to those coaches who don't forget about that in the current culture that tends to focus on winning.

It doesn't mean they stop coaching athletes to to be their best when they play. It doesn't mean they stop coaching kids to win. Or that they stop doing technical drills or setting the team up for success.

It just means they realize that everything else matters more.

So to these coaches:
Thank you...

Thank you for teaching more than just how to win the game..... but how to win at life.

Good times were had by all at the SFBSA Golf Outing today. Special thanks goes out to our Baseball Commissioner, Dan Riggio, for all of his hard work to set up this fantastic event. We also want to extend a very sincere thank you to all who donated gifts and prizes.

The SFBSA is deeply saddened by the loss of a true friend to our organization, David Arison. Dave was a longtime coach and umpire in South Fayette who dedicated countless years to our players, families, and the game he loved. His kindness, passion, and commitment to our community will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dave’s family and loved ones during this difficult time. We also ask that our SFBSA family consider supporting the GoFundMe attached to help Dave’s family during this difficult time.
